Serbia victoriously opened their Mediterranean Games campaign. They held off Italy in Mersin tonight. Nikola Kalinic (202-F-91) nailed 15 points to pace the winners.
Serbia opened the game on a massive 19:3 rally. They finished the first period up by 10 points 20:10. Serbia kept control throughout the second frame. They built a 38:27 halftime advantage. Serbia stretched the lead in the third period

Pallacanestro Reggiana brings in Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances) for the next season. The player will move from Acegas Aps Trieste in Italian Lega2. In 28 Nazionale A games he recorded 13.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.1apg and 2.0spg last season. Earlier Filloy played at Armani Milano (SerieA). In 16 games he averaged just 2.6ppg and 1.4rpg. He also played 3 games in Euroleague where he averaged 4.7ppg and 1.0rpg.

Basketball club Union Olimpija got wild-card for the new Eurocup season with the new format of the competition. In new season will be 48 instead 32 teams and Olimpija will be one of them. Union Olimpija was defeat in Slovenian final against Krka with 3-1, they won Slovenian Cup and in Adriatic league they finished season in eight place. Yesterday they sell one of the best players in their roster, Jaka Blazic who was signed three year contract with Crvena zvezda Telekom.
