Turkey confidently started their 2013 Mediterranean Games campaign. The hosts shot down Algeria in the opener. Melih Mahmutoglu (193-G-90) delivered 17 points to lead the home side.

Serbia victoriously opened their Mediterranean Games campaign. They held off Italy in Mersin tonight. Nikola Kalinic (202-F-91) nailed 15 points to pace the winners.
Serbia opened the game on a massive 19:3 rally. They finished the first period up by 10 points 20:10. Serbia kept control throughout the second frame. They built a 38:27 halftime advantage. Serbia stretched the lead in the third period
