Poland gained the second victory at 2013 EuroBasket Qualification. They cruised past Albania in Tirana. Mateusz Ponitka (196-G/F-93) scored 17 points to lead the visitors. Poland are now at 2-2 record, while Albania slipped at 0-3.
Poland tipped off the game aggressively. They fired 28 points in the opening quarter to take a 9-point lead. Poland stayed in control throughout the second frame. They ensured a 56:33 halftime advantage. Albania slowed the visitors down a bit in the third quarter. The hosts cut the margin to 21-point mark before the fourth period. But Poland unleashed 35 points in the final frame to seal a confident victory. Michal Ignerski (207-F-80, agency: Stanley International, college: Mississippi St.) and Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-G/F-86, agency: Alti Sport, college: Independence CC) provided 14 points each for the winners. Klaudio Ndoja (198-SG-85) answered with 16 points for Albania. Ersid Luca (212-C-81) and Gerti Shima (202-PF-86) netted 14 points each in the loss.

SK Tirana - Vllaznia 98-71 SK Tirana opened win count in Superliga Finals. They cruised past Vllaznia in the championship series opener. SK Tirana dominated from start to finish in this one. They posted a 2718 lead ten minutes into the game. SK Tirana unloaded 26 points in the second quarter to take a 16-point halftime lead. SK Tirana poured in 45 points in the second half and marched to the victory. The second game in the best-of-five series is scheduled for April 26th.   [read more]
