Gussing snatched a narrow road win over Kapfenberg to open the quarterfinal series. It looked good early as Kapfenberg Bulls took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gussing Knights took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. International point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: TSS Management) contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Heard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gussing Knights' coach Radomir Mijanovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-87, college: Boise St., agency: Court Side) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Demetrius Nelson (203-86, college: Citadel, agency: Court Side) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls.

Oberward shot down Gmunden at home court to take 1-0 lead in the series. Gmunden Swans were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 31-17 third quarter run of Redwell Gunners Oberwart. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American-Puerto Rican point guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 steals. American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) contributed with 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Redwell Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Enis Murati (194-88) answered with 24 points and American point guard Joshua Brown (187-88, college: Towson) added 15 points in the effort for Gmunden Swans.

BC Vienna controlled the game and deservedly posted victory against Wels in the playoff opener. The game was mostly controlled by BC Vienna. Raiffeisen Wels was better in third quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Vienna players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Raiffeisen Wels' players. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 assists. American swingman Ian Boylan (197-83, college: CS Northridge) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Tyler Tiedeman (201-85, college: Boise St., agency: Interperformances) answered with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Raiffeisen Wels. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Xion Dukes's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-16 extending their advantage to 14 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Furstenfeld Panthers' 38. They outrebounded Furstenfeld Panthers 43-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian power forward Ramiz Suljanovic (205-79) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Curtis Bobb (198-78, college: Utah St.) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Tyrone Sally (201-82, college: W.Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Slovenian swingman Samo Grum (193-79) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Dragons - Raiders 58-94 Raiders Villach cut the deficit in the 2.Bundesliga Finals. They stormed past UBC St.Polten on the road in Game 3 to open win count in the title series. The game without a history. Raiders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter.
