The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kapfenberg. Second-ranked host Kapfenberg Bulls (18-9) were smashed by third ranked Xion Dukes (18-9) 105-75. The game without a history. Xion Dukes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.5 percent from the field and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Xion Dukes shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Kapfenberg Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 assists for the winners and international center Christoph Greimeister (208-90) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-87, college: Boise St., agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Kapfenberg. Xion Dukes is looking forward to face Gmunden Swans (#4) in Gmunden in the next round. Kapfenberg Bulls will play at home against Gussing Knights and are hoping to win this game.
A Bundesliga top team - BC Vienna (21-6) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Gussing Knights (14-13) in Wien 73-61. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) nailed 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Tomislav Gaspar accounted for 12 points. American forward Dario Hunt (203-89, college: Nevada) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for Gussing Knights in the defeat. Gussing Knights' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Vienna have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-6 record. Gussing Knights at the other side keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. BC Vienna will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart (#5) on the road in the next round. Gussing Knights will play against Kapfenberg Bulls and hope to get back on the winning track.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 29: St.Polten lost to Furstenfeld on the opponent's court 72-79. Gmunden unfortunately lost to Oberwart in a home game 72-81. Bottom-ranked Arkadia was rolled over UBSC Graz on the road 68-96.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 25 points and 14 rebounds by Martin Kohlmaier of St.Polten.


Furstenfeld - St.Polten 79-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked St.Polten's (3-22) road loss to ninth ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (10-16) 72-79. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 17-13 St.Polten's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-72 at the end of the game. Furstenfeld Panthers made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American forward Tyrone Sally (201-82, college: W.Virginia) nailed 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Cor-J Cox (195-90, college: Miss.Valley St.) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Cox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Furstenfeld Panthers players scored in double figures. The former international center Martin Kohlmaier (218-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Martin Speiser (202-83) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for St.Polten in the defeat. Furstenfeld Panthers maintains ninth place with 10-16 record. St.Polten lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 22 games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. St.Polten will play at home against UBSC Graz (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Gmunden - Oberwart 72-81

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (16-11) defeated on the road 4th placed Gmunden Swans (16-11) 81-72. It looked good early as Gmunden Swans took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Redwell Gunners Oberwart had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Gmunden Swans were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-81. American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American-Puerto Rican point guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso, agency: SportsTalent) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Gmunden Swans in the defeat. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Redwell Gunners Oberwart moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gmunden. Gmunden Swans lost fifth consecutive game. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against league's leader BC Vienna in Wien in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gmunden Swans will play on the road against the league's second-placed Xion Dukes in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

UBSC Graz - Arkadia 96-68

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Arkadia Lions (3-23) were rolled over on the road by eighth ranked UBSC Graz (11-15) 96-68. The game without a history. UBSC Graz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-19 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. UBSC Graz outrebounded Arkadia Lions 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American swingman Michael Dale (197-84, college: S.Illinois) nailed 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 18 points, 5 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Dale is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: Interperformances) came up with 21 points and Argentinian-Italian center Matias Bortolin (205-93, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Arkadia Lions in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UBSC Graz maintains eighth place with 11-15 record. Arkadia Lions at the other side stay dead last with 23 lost games. UBSC Graz will play against St.Polten (#10) on the road in the next round. Arkadia Lions will play against Raiffeisen Wels and hope to get back on the winning track.

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in 2.Bundesliga, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.
