There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in A Bundesliga.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked BC Vienna (21-7) on the court of fifth ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Redwell Gunners Oberwart 88-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BC Vienna. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-78. American-Puerto Rican guard Richard Chaney (196-84, college: Troy) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) with 30 points and 6 rebounds. Redwell Gunners Oberwart have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. BC Vienna at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Redwell Gunners Oberwart are looking forward to face Gussing Knights (#7) on the road in the next round. BC Vienna will play against the league's second-placed Xion Dukes (#2) in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Klosterneuburg. Second ranked Xion Dukes (19-9) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Gmunden Swans (16-12) 64-62 on Sunday evening. Bosnian power forward Ramiz Suljanovic (205-79) notched 16 points to lead the effort and Moritz Lanegger supported him with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian forward Enis Murati (194-88) did not help to save the game for Gmunden Swans. Gmunden Swans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second position with 19-9 record having just two points less than leader BC Vienna, which they share with Kapfenberg. Gmunden Swans lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Xion Dukes will play against league's leader BC Vienna in Wien in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gmunden Swans will play at home against Kapfenberg Bulls (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
11th ranked Arkadia Lions (3-24) were outscored at home by sixth ranked Raiffeisen Wels (16-10) with the biggest margin this round 99-78 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was DeVaughn Washington who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Fabricio Vay who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Arkadia Lions' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Raiffeisen Wels moved-up to fifth place. Loser Arkadia Lions stay dead last with 24 lost games. Raiffeisen Wels will meet at home St.Polten (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Arkadia Lions will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 30 Gussing lost to Kapfenberg on the opponent's court 72-81. St.Polten outscored UBSC Graz in a home game 95-76.


Kapfenberg - Gussing 81-72

Very expected game when 7th ranked Gussing Knights (14-14) were defeated on the road by third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (19-9) 81-72 on Sunday. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to second place, which they share with Klosterneub. Loser Gussing Knights keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will meet Gmunden Swans (#6) in the next round. Gussing Knights will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart and hope to secure a win.

Important game to mention about took place in Klosterneuburg. Second ranked Xion Dukes (19-9) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Gmunden Swans (16-12) 64-62 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Gmunden Swans took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Xion Dukes had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Gmunden Swans were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-64. Xion Dukes forced 20 Gmunden Swans turnovers. There was a small surprise when tenth ranked St.Polten (4-22) smashed at home 8th ranked UBSC Graz (11-16) 95-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. St.Polten led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UBSC Graz's 38. St.Polten looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Martin Speiser (202-83) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian swingman Maksim Kovacevic (199-87) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. St.Polten's coach Uros Vukadinovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Croatian power forward Milan Stegnjaic (204-81) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. St.Polten maintains tenth position with 4-22 record. Loser UBSC Graz keeps the eighth place with 16 games lost. The game was mostly controlled by Raiffeisen Wels. Arkadia Lions managed to win second period 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
