Kapfenberg snatched a tough home win over BC Vienna to take 2-1 lead in the series. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 26-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kapfenberg Bulls made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-87, college: Boise St., agency: Court Side) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. American guard Giovonne Woods (191-86, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) who recorded 20 points and 7 assists and British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Klosterneuburg surprised Oberwart on the road to surge ahead in the semifinal series. It was a good game for the former international swingman Christoph Nagler (196-84) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. International point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, agency: Two Points) contributed with 11 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Xion Dukes players scored in double figures. American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) answered with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Puerto Rican point guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) added 22 points and 4 assists in the effort for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
