Fabricio Vay
Italian-Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (206-F-86, agency: Interperformances) put on an amazing game in the last round for Arkadia, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 32.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (31 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out St.Polten (4-24) 84-82. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Arkadia is placed at 10th position in Austrian A Bundesliga. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 24 games and recorded just four victories. Vay just recently signed at Arkadia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Fabricio Vay averages this season 21.7ppg, 8.3rpg and 5.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Serbian Maksim Kovacevic (199-G/F-87) of St.Polten. Kovacevic had a very good evening with 32 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as St.Polten was edged by slightly higher-ranked Arkadia (4-24) 84-82. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. St.Polten dropped in the standings to very bottom position. 24 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories St.Polten managed to get this year. Kovacevic is a newcomer at St.Polten, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Marcus Heard (201-F-84) of Gussing (#7). Heard scored 19 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Heard's great performance Gussing lost 82-86 to slightly higher-ranked Gmunden (#5, 18-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Gussing ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Heard could help Gussing to bring them higher in the standings. Heard has a great season in Austria. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.0rpg (3rd best). Heard attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mark Sanchez (201-F-87) of Kapfenberg - 22 points and 9 rebounds
5. Demetrius Nelson (203-F/C-86) of Kapfenberg - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ian Boylan (197-G/F-83) of BC Vienna - 24 points and 8 assists
7. Robert Arnold (198-F-88) of Gmunden - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Dario Hunt (203-F-89) of Gussing - 18 points and 5 rebounds
9. Curtis Bobb (198-G/F-78) of Klosterneub. - 20 points and 7 rebounds
10. Radosav Spasojevic (204-F/C-92) of Arkadia - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
