BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers (A Bundesliga) re-signed 31-year old American guard Janou Rubin (193-94kg-82, college: UCLA, agency: Two Points). He played there last season. Rubin managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 10 A Bundesliga games he averaged 11.5ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.0spg. He also played at Falco-Szova (A Division) in Hungarian league that season. In 5 games he had 9.2ppg, 4.6rpg, 3.6apg and 1.0spg. The other team Rubin played that season for was Levharti Chomutov (NBL) in Czech Republic league. In 8 games he had 5.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.3apg.
The previous (11-12) season he played at Soproni (A Division) in Hungarian league. In 30 games he had very impressive stats: 16.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg. Great season as he was named to Hungarian League All-Star Game. The most of previous (10-11) season Rubin spent at Szedeak (A Division) in Hungarian league. In 26 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 19.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.9apg and 1.9spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention. He also spent pre-season at Albacomp (A Division) in Hungarian league that year. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention. Rubin's college team won Pac-10 Tournament in 2006.
He has played also professionally in ABA (Clayton).
Rubin attended Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles until 2006 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
He could be described: Made the UCLA squad as a walk on, and this tells a lot about his talent. A great all-around player, he does everything well, is very athletic and can run the court. Plays an hard defense, has a knack for loose balls. An outstanding rebounder at both ends of court and has interesting point guard skills.
