We bring you last week's top performances from Austrians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is an international center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90, currently plays in Poland). He led Asseco Prokom Gdynia to a victory against the sixth-ranked Energa Czarni (13-11) 80-74 in the Polish TBL in Thursday night's game.
Mahalbasic recorded 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes on the court.
Asseco Prokom Gdynia (16-8) is placed fourth in Places 1-6 group.
This year Mahalbasic averages: 9.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 58.0%(83-143) and FT: 69.4% in the 24 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian.
Ex-kelag Worthersee Piraten player is currently a member of the Austrian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA. Ortner could not help Montepaschi Siena (14-9) to beat Lottomatica Roma (16-7).
He recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Montepaschi Siena was crushed 94-70 on the road by the higher-ranked Lottomatica Roma (#3).
It was Montepaschi Siena's third consecutive loss in a row.
It's Ortner's first season with the team.
Ortner's overall stats this year are: 4.2ppg, 2.5rpg and FT: 85.7%.
He is in the roster of the Austrian senior national team.
#3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Thomas Schreiner (195-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management, currently plays in Spain). Schreiner managed to help B.C. River Andorra in a victory against the tenth-ranked Caceres Basket (9-13) crushing them 84-64 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night.
He recorded 5 points and added 6 passes in 19 minutes.
B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold.
So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Schreiner's overall stats are: 5.9ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.9apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 29.4% and FT: 95.8%(23-24) in the 18 games.
He is also a member of the Austrian senior national team.
#4. Forward Matej Kljaic (193-91, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a 1-point Djuro Djakovic's victory against the third-ranked Krizevci (6-12) 73-72 in the Croatian A1 in Saturday night's game.
Kljaic scored only 3 points.
KK Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod (10-8) is placed sixth in Places 9-14 group.
The Regular Season already ended.
Kljaic has been at the team for four years.
This season he averages just 3.8ppg.
Kljaic is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Croatian.
He used to play for the Austrian U16 national team
back in 2007.
#5. International shooting guard Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Thomas Schreiner and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game.
Maresch contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Caceres Basket (9-13) crushing them 84-64.
He recorded 5 points in 18 minutes.
This year Maresch's total stats are: 8.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.0apg in the 22 games.
He plays currently for the Austrian national team.

Oberwart stole a tough overtime win over visiting BC Vienna to send the title series into the decisive fifth game. Oberwart stole a tough overtime win over visiting BC Vienna to send the title series into the decisive fifth game. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 21-11 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. Redwell Gunners Oberwart made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BC Vienna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Puerto Rican guard Richard Chaney (196-84, college: Troy) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side.
