The Second Stage in Baltic League just ended. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Tsmoki-Minsk (5-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Gorizont (5-1) 60-42. It was a key game for the top position in Group A as both teams had the same 4-1 record before this meeting. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Tsmoki-Minsk to an opponent 21.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Tsmoki-Minsk 52-31 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Natalia Anufryienka (174-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and Russian-Ukrainian center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Russian-Belarusian guard Zhanna Horodetskaya (180-79) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Belarusian champion keeps a position of Group A leader.
One of the most interesting games of round 4 was a derby match between two teams from Belarus. First ranked Tsmoki-Minsk outleveled visiting Berezina-RCOR (0-6) 69-50. The winners were led by forward Alesia Lalovich (188-79) who scored that evening 14 points and 5 rebounds and Volha Istseliatsova supported her with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by guard Irina Chubkavets (184-91) did not help to save the game for Berezina-RCOR. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Tsmoki-Minsk went down to second position (Group A) due to points difference. Berezina-RCOR at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost.
