American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-G-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Tarvas, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8 (Top 16).
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Juventus (4-2) 100-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tarvas is placed at 2nd position in Baltic League . They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Top 16. Tarvas will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Raley-Ross turned to be Tarvas' top player in his first season with the team. Former University of South Carolina star has very solid stats this year. Raley-Ross is in league's top in assists (8th best: 4.0apg) and averages impressive 60.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old Aivaras Kiausas (199-F-80) of Sakalai. Kiausas had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Sakalai to edge slightly higher-ranked Valmiera (#3, 3-3) 61-55. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Sakalai consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Sakalai managed to get this Top 16. Kiausas is well-known at Sakalai and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Rain Raadik (208-C-89) of Parnu (#3). Raadik scored 16 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Parnu, leading his team to a 101-75 easy win against #4 ranked Lietkabelis. Parnu can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Raadik he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Raadik has individually a great season in Baltic League. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.4ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Frank Elegar (208-C-86) of Kalev/Cramo - 20 points and 11 rebounds
5. Vaidotas Volkus (202-F-85) of Lietkabelis - 27 points and 8 rebounds
6. Gintaras Kadziulis (192-G-80) of Rudupis - 22 points and 6 assists
7. Nerijus Varnelis (201-F-78) of Juventus - 20 points and 13 rebounds
8. Augustas Peciukevicius (192-G-91) of Parnu - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Jamar Diggs (187-G-88) of Barons kvartals - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Rannar Raap (188-G/F-92) of Parnu - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
