Artsiom
Parakhouski
Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem (Winner League) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old Belarusian international center Artsiom Parakhouski (210-117kg-87, college: Radford). He played last season at Olin Edirne in Turkish TBL league. In 30 games he recorded 12.1ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6bpg.
The previous (11-12) season Parakhouski played at Budivelnyk (Superleague) in Ukraine. In 42 games he averaged 7.9ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1bpg that season. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. Parakhouski also played 12 games in VTB United League where he averaged 9.5ppg and 6.0rpg. He also spent pre-season at FoxTown Cantu (SerieA) in Italian league that year. He contributed in the supercup final.
In 2010-11 season he played at VEF Riga (LBL) in Latvian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and Parakhouski had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 12 LBL games he averaged 10.3ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.3bpg. He contributed to his team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Great season indeed as he was voted to Latvian League All-Star Game. Parakhouski also played 6 games in Eurocup where he averaged 8.0ppg and 5.3rpg. He also played 25 games in Baltic League where he averaged impressive 15.2ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1spg and 1.3bpg. He contributed to his team making it to the final. A very good season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Baltic League Player of the Year, Bosman Player of the Year and Center of the Year. And finally Parakhouski played 10 games in VTB United League where he averaged 12.2ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.3bpg. The other team he played shortly was BK VEF-LSPA (LBL2) in Latvian league. In 5 games he averaged 9.0ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.0bpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as Parakhouski was voted All-Big South Conf. Player of the Year back in 2009 and 2010 at his college time. Parakhouski also represented Belarus at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 12.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 59.2%, FT: 51.6%.
Parakhouski graduated from Radford University in 2010 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Center with a dominant body. Strength and athleticism gives Artsiom advantage at both sides of the court. He loves to play back to the basket and finish in traffic. Can score a mid-range shot. Artsiom has a great feeling for his teammates, when doubled always finds an open teammate for an open shot. Solid rebounder and defender. Always leading shot-blocer of the league. Has to improve his free throw shooting and make another step forward in further improvement of his post game.
