Experienced former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-G-75) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Grodno-93 and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27. The 37-year old guard had the game-high 18 points adding five rebounds and nine assists for Grodno-93 in his team's victory, helping them to beat Rubon (#3, 10-12) 80-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Grodno-93 to consolidate first place in the Belarusian Premier League. Grodno-93 has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 22-1. In the team's last game Kuzmin had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Grodno-93 and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Kuzmin has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.0rpg) and assists (2nd best: 5.1apg).
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Ukrainian forward Maks Adam Konate (200-F-91) of Svisloch. Konate impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Svisloch cruised to a 85-76 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Impuls BGUIR (#6, 8-15). Svisloch's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-14 record. Konate is one of the most experienced players at Svisloch and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-F-93) of Tsmoki-Minsk II (#4). Semianiuk showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Semianiuk's great performance Tsmoki-Minsk II lost 70-71 to the lower-ranked Borisfen (#7, 5-19). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Tsmoki-Minsk II ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Semianiuk could help Tsmoki-Minsk II to bring them higher in the standings. Semianiuk has a great season in Belarus. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.9ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.9rpg (4th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Vladimir Krisevich (210-C-91) of Tsmoki-Minsk II - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Fedor Kryukov (181-PG-88) of Borisfen - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Evgeni Ivanov (202-G/F-84) of Rubon - 15 points and 5 rebounds 7. Henadziy Zakhar (198-SF-92) of Impuls BGUIR - 14 points and 10 rebounds 8. Artem Malkov (185-PG-88) of Grodno-93 - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Oleksandr Dolenko (191-PG-90) of Svisloch - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists 10. Sergey Tatur (195-G-91) of Borisfen - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
