Grodno-93 wins the First Stage with 23-1 record - Mar 10, 2013

The Regular Season in Premier League just ended. Coincidentally all visitors won their games.

The most important game in the last round took place in Vitebsk between third ranked Rubon (11-13) and fifth ranked Svisloch (10-14) on Saturday night. Rubon was defeated by Svisloch at home 80-93. The game without a history. Svisloch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Svisloch outrebounded Rubon 46-25 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Rubon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Ilya Sharipov (198-91) contributed with 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Russian guard Anton Indrikov (193-87) replied with 19 points for Rubon. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Svisloch have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Rubon at the other side keeps the third position with 13 games lost.
The game in Minsk was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Sozh Gomel (18-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (9-15). Sozh Gomel managed to secure a 4-point victory 85-81. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (185-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Kiril Sitnik who added 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Evgeni Sugonyako (198-92) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Tsmoki-Minsk II's coach Tadas Stockus tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sozh Gomel have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-6 record having five points less than leader Grodno-93. Tsmoki-Minsk II lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 15 games lost.

The game in Minsk was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Sozh Gomel (18-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (9-15). Sozh Gomel managed to secure a 4-point victory 85-81. The guests were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 22-14 last quarter charge of Tsmoki-Minsk II cut the lead to 85-81 at the end of the game. Sozh Gomel made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Tsmoki-Minsk II turnovers. Sozh Gomel step onto the pedestal of Belarus as they finished third in the country. In the series for the third place the team overcame Svisloch 3-1. Grodno-93 - Tsmoki-Minsk 66:74 Tsmoki-Minsk became the Champions of Belarus! The defending champions swept the Finals series against Grodno-93 3-0 adding 74:66 road win.
