21-year old forward Maks Adam Konate (200-F-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Svisloch and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28. He had a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Rubon (#3, 11-13) 93-80. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Svisloch is placed at 4th position in Belarusian league. Svisloch is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-14 record. In the team's last game Konate had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Svisloch, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Maks Adam Konate averages this season 18.2ppg and 12.2rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Ilya Sharipov (198-G-91). He is a guard in his first season at Svisloch. In the last game Sharipov recorded impressive 26 points and 8 rebounds. Of course together with Konate he helped Svisloch with another comfortable win 93-80 over slightly higher-ranked Rubon (#3, 11-13) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Svisloch consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-14 record. Sharipov is a newcomer at Svisloch and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Kiril Sitnik (190-G-89) of league's second-best Sozh Gomel. Sitnik scored 20 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Sozh Gomel, leading his team to a 85-81 win against the lower-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (#5, 9-15). Sozh Gomel needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 6 lost games. Sitnik has a great season in Belarus. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.9ppg (best scorer) and assists with 3.5apg (5th best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 62.6%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Vladimir Krisevich (210-C-91) of Tsmoki-Minsk II - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Anton Indrikov (193-G-87) of Rubon - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Yaraslau Kurapau (200-F-91) of Tsmoki-Minsk II - 12 points and 6 rebounds 7. Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-F-93) of Tsmoki-Minsk II - 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists 8. Sergei Miakinin (206-F/C-86) of Sozh Gomel - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Dmitri Shilovich (200-F-89) of Svisloch - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Evgeni Ivanov (202-G/F-84) of Rubon - 22 points
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
