Premier League Round 24 of Regular Season - Feb 15, 2013

The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

Round 24 most important game was a victory of Tsmoki-Minsk II over 5th ranked Impuls BGUIR 71-62 on Friday night. Impuls BGUIR was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 25-11 charge of Tsmoki-Minsk II, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 24 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. It was a good game for forward Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-93) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Vytautas Kamarunas (179-89) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Henadziy Zakhar (198-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for Impuls BGUIR. Tsmoki-Minsk II maintains fourth position with 9-11 record. Impuls BGUIR at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk II are looking forward to face league's leader Grodno-93 at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Impuls BGUIR will play against the league's second-placed Sozh Gomel (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
An interesting game for Grodno-93 (20-0) which hosted in Grodno second-best Sozh Gomel (15-6). Top-ranked Grodno-93 had an easy win 99-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sozh Gomel. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Igor Konuyshenko (196-86) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Vyacheslau Korzh who added 8 points and 7 assists during the contest. Grodno-93's coach Andrei Vasileuka felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian forward Sergei Dadukin (198-83) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Undefeated Grodno-93 have an impressive 20-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-0 record. Sozh Gomel at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Grodno-93 will play against Tsmoki-Minsk II (#4) on the road in the next round. Sozh Gomel will play against Impuls BGUIR in Minsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between sixth ranked Svisloch (7-14) and 7th ranked Borisfen (3-18) in Osipovichi on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Svisloch outscored guests from Mogilev 108-44. The winners were led by Maks Adam Konate who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds. Coach Andrei Olbrecht's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 13 points by Evgeniy Kopylov did not help to save the game for Borisfen. Svisloch maintains sixth position with 7-14 record. Borisfen lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost. Svisloch will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Borisfen will play against Rubon (#3) in Vitebsk and hope to secure a win.

The game between sixth ranked Svisloch (7-14) and 7th ranked Borisfen (3-18) in Osipovichi on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Svisloch outscored guests from Mogilev 108-44. The game without a history. Svisloch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Borisfen's 32 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Svisloch forced 24 Borisfen turnovers and outrebounded them 55-20 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Borisfen's players. The winners were led by Ukrainian forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Oleksandr Dolenko (191-90) supported him with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Grodno-93 - Tsmoki-Minsk 66:74 Tsmoki-Minsk became the Champions of Belarus! The defending champions swept the Finals series against Grodno-93 3-0 adding 74:66 road win.
