Belarus U20 - France U20 64:56

Belarus advanced into the U20 European Championship semifinal stage. They knocked down French counterparts in the quarterfinal clash in Samsun today. Maryia Papova (186-PF-94) finished with impressive 18 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks to lead the winners.
Belarus used a 7:0 run midway through the opening quarter to post a 12:6 lead. They entered the second quarter up by six points 17:11. Darya Lipinskaya (180-SG-93) scored five points in a 7:0 run from Belarus at the start of the second quarter. Belarus kept Les Bleus at bay throughout the second stanza. Belarus accumulated a 32:22 halftime lead. But France were far from being done. Sabrine Bouzenna (169-PG-93) sparked a comeback rally from the team as they grabbed a 38:36 lead midway through the third term. The lead changed hands for several times before Voishal drained a triple and send Belarus into the fourth period up by two points 47:45. Darya Lipinskaya and Baklaha stretched the margin at 7-point mark early in the fourth frame. France got within four points with under two minutes remaining 56:60 but Belarus kept their opponents scoreless in the reminder of the contest to clinch the victory. Darya Lipinskaya netted 17 points, while Hanna Kalenta (190-C-94) added 9 points for the winning side. Christelle Diallo (190-C-93) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds for France. Sabrine Bouzenna had 10 points in the losing case.

Tatsiana Likhtarovich (ex UNI Gyor) signs at Keltern - 6 days ago
Gruner Stern Keltern (DBBL) landed 29-year old Belarusian international swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88). She played most recently at UNI Gyor in Hungarian A Division. In 25 games she averaged 9.4ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg last season. Likhtarovich helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention. Tsmoki Minsk won BWBL preseason tournament in Druskininkai. The team from Belarus ended up with a 2-1 record on top. Tonight Tsmoki Minsk beat Energa 70-66. They notched 19 points in the third quarters of the game that was enough for the final success. BK Tsmoki-Minsk (Premier League) landed 22-year old American center Kai James (196-95). She just graduated from Florida State University (NCAA). James has played there for the last four years. In 22 games she averaged 3.4ppg and 2.6rpg last season. She helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in Atlantic Coast Conference and they also made it to the NCAA Elite Eight.
