We bring you last week's top performances from Belgians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Axel Hervelle (205-83, currently plays in Eurocup). He managed to help Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket in a victory against the closely-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (3-3) crushing them 101-78 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game. Hervelle scored 5 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 21 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (4-2) is placed first. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Hervelle averages: 7.3ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.9apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 53.5%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 66.7% in the 14 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Jonathan Tabu (190-85, currently plays in Italy). Tabu contributed to Cantu's victory against one of league's weakest teams VL Pesaro (6-17) 74-62 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. He scored 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. FoxTown Cantu (15-8) is placed fourth in the SerieA. Tabu has relatively good stats this season: 10.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 4.0apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 45.2%, 3FGP: 40.2% and FT: 82.5%. He is in the roster of the Belgian senior national team.

   #3. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86, currently plays in Spain). Van Rossom contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked G.Canaria 2014 (15-10) 69-53 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. CAI Zaragoza (14-11) is placed seventh in the ACB. This year Van Rossom's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 56.2%(41-73), 3FGP: 46.6%(41-88) and FT: 86.8% in the 25 games. He is also a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #4. Center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84, currently plays in Poland) led Polpharma to a victory against the third-ranked Siarka Jezioro (10-14) 90-83 in the Polish TBL in Sunday night's game. Lichodzijewski scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 7-12. SKS Polpharma-Pakmet Starogard Gd. (12-11) is placed first in Places 7-12 group. It's Lichodzijewski's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 8.5ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.3apg. Lichodzijewski has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Polish. He used to play for the Belgian national team back in 2008.

An experienced former international guard Marcus Faison (196-78, college: Siena, currently plays in Finland) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Forssan Koripojat (10-28) crushing them 111-81 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Wednesday. Faison scored 13 points in 24 minutes. KTP Basket Kotka (29-9) is placed first in the Korisliiga. This year Faison has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.4spg in the five games. He is a naturalized American. Faison used to play for the Belgian national team two years ago. He played also for TEC Spirou Charleroi in Belgian league.

Point guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Alabama's victory against the University of Tennessee (11-7) 58-48 in the NCAA in Friday night's game. Obasohan scored 9 points in 17 minutes. The The University of Alabama has a solid 12-6 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Obasohan has reliable stats this year: 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.1apg and 1.7spg in the 23 games. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Belgian National Team roster.

International guard Dimitri Lauwers (187-79, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Tezenis VE's victory against the closely-ranked Biancoblu BO (10-10) 72-65 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 27 minutes. Tezenis Verona (10-11) is placed eighth in the Lega2. This year Lauwers' total stats are: 6.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.5spg in the two games. He is also Belgian national team player.

Swingman Gael Hulsen (193-90, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL could not help the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-26) to beat Surrey Heat (17-11). Hulsen scored 8 points and added 4 assists. The bottom-ranked Liverpool Mersey Tigers was crushed 99-71 on the road by the higher-ranked Surrey Heat (#6). So far Liverpool Mersey Tigers lost all games in the Regular Season. Hulsen's stats this season are: 11.4ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.4apg. He used to play for the Belgian U20 national team back in 2009.

The list of other players, who all have Belgian passport but never been selected to any of Belgian national teams:

   #1. Jonathan Dubas (202-SF-91, currently plays in Switzerland), who plays in the Swiss LNA could not help one of league's weakest teams Monthey (12-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Dubas' very good performance Monthey was edged 74-73 at home by the higher-ranked Neuchatel (#4). He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Dubas also added 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Dubas has reliable stats this season: 11.0ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.1apg and 1.7spg. He has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Swiss.

   #2. Experienced Ryan Hoover (187-PG-74, agency: SportsTalent, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Fileni BPA Jesi (8-13) in their game against Upea CdO (9-12) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Hoover recorded 7 points and added 3 passes. Fileni BPA Jesi was crushed 116-91 on the road by the higher-ranked Upea CdO (#11). Hoover's stats this season are: 11.6ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.7apg and 1.8spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Hoover has never played in Belgium.

   #3. Douglas Tshomba (201-F-83, college: Tusculum, currently plays in France) managed to help JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne basket in a victory against the sixth-ranked Monaco (13-9) 82-78 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. Tshomba scored only 2 points in 28 minutes. JA Vichy Val d'Allier Auvergne basket (18-6) is placed second in the NM1. Tshomba averaged so far 10.7ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in the 19 games he played so far.

   #4. best in steals. He has very reliable stats this season: 11.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 3.1apg and 2.6spg. Jones is another player who holds two passports: Belgian and Luxembourg.   

Yunio Barrueta (ex Aalstar) signs at Denain - 13 minutes ago
Denain ASC Voltaire (ProB) landed 24-year old American swingman Yunio Barrueta (198-102kg-93, college: Barry). He played most recently at Crelan Okapi Aalstar in Belgian Euromillions League. In 30 games he averaged 11.9ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.0apg last season. Among other achievements Barrueta played in the final of SSC Tournament for two years in a row (2015 and 2016). France beat Belgium in Toulouse International tournament - 56 minutes ago
France - Belgium 85-60 France overcame Belgium at the start of the home International Tournament. France had a slow start, but came up with a massive 85-60 win. Belgium grabbed a 21-13 lead at the start of the game, but could not match the hosts in the rest of the game. France replied with a 22-9 surge to take a 35-32 half-time advantage. Chrabascz starts his pro career at Aalstar - 1 day ago
Crelan Okapi Aalstar (Euromillions League) agreed terms with 23-year old Armenian international forward Andrew Chrabascz (203-93kg-94). Chrabascz is a dual citizen owning also American passport. He just graduated from Butler (NCAA). Chrabascz has played there for the last four years. In 34 games he had 11.4ppg, 4.6rpg and 3.1apg last season.
