Royal Aera Excelsior Brussels (Division II) inked 22-year old American forward Brandon Ubel (208-106kg-91). He just graduated from Nebraska (NCAA). In 31 games he recorded 11.5ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.6apg this season. The last season Ubel also at the University of Nebraska in Big Ten Conference in the NCAA. In 30 games he averaged 6.7ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.3apg.

Leuven Bears secured the services of Stephane Moris (207-F/C-86, agency: Promotex) for the next season. The centre spent the last two seasons with Verviers-Pepinster. He averaged 9.9 points, 5.0 rebounds per game in 2012/13 season. Previously Stephane Moris had stints in Switzerland, Germany. M.Hainaut cruised past Leuven in the quarterfinal series opener. The game without a history. Belfius Mons-Hainaut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Leuven Bears to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Leuven Bears 41-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds [read more]

Belfius Mons-Hainaut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Leuven Bears to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Leuven Bears 41-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Leuven Bears' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 7 blocks. American guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. His fellow American import center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Center Yannick Desiron (206-92) produced 14 points and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St.) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aalstar outlasted Antwerp at home court to take 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 52-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Okapi Aalstar made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Antwerp Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Lithuanian power forward Christopher Young (206-79, college: Michigan, agency: Court Side) fired 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures.
