Point Chaud Sprimont vs. Gembo BBC: 94-101
After a good start for Gembo BBC, Sprimont reacted very well. At half-time, the home team recorded only a four-point deficit. The men of Coach Pascal Horrion even took the lead after 30 minutes of play (70-66) but the visitors played particularly well in the last quarter. Gembo finished strongly to eventually win the contest 94-101. This is an important success away for the men of Coach Stefan "Sappe" Sappenberghs against a tough team of PC Sprimont, always tough to play in front of its fans at the Hall Omnisports Communal located at Rue Joseph Potier in Sprimont.

BT Holstra Wevelgem vs. Union Mons Hainaut II: 65-74
When experienced Ethias League players like Amaury Gorgemans (211-C-92) or Lorenzo Giancaterino (190-F/G-90) play for Union Mons Hainaut II, you can expect a totally different scenario than the one of last week when the young Foxes lost by a 56-point margin in Gembo. The Foxes of Coach Vincent Bouffioux played a very intense game last weekend and deserved the win. Special mention to Geoffrey Firmin (188-PG-89, agency: Court Side, college: Northern St.) who scored 18 points for the visitors. Despite many efforts by Jerome Vandenberghe (178-PG-88), BT Hosltra Wevelgem of Coach Peter Castelein recorded a second loss in a row in this competition. Tom Van de Keere (201-G/F-78, college: Fair Dickinson) and his mates will be hosted by Sint-Niklase Condors on Sep. 21st and will therefore try to win a first game in the 2013-14 Division II competition.
Score evolution: 17-23, 34-40, 47-58 and 65-74.
Best scorers:
Holstra: J. Vandenberghe 21, T. Van de Keere 11, K. Lautrie 5, C. Castelein 12, J. Velghe 6, A. Byttebier 2, O. Vivies 6, N. Hanssens 2.
UMH II: Ouattara 4, G. Firmin 18, L. Giancaterino 15, V. Fourneaux 9, K. Carles 4, A. Tuluka 9, D. Walasiak 4, A. Gorgemans 9, G. Vlamynck 2.

Gent Hawks vs. Bent Schoenen Waregem: 73-77
The Hawks in the first half and in the second one were of conflicting images. Weak in the first twenty minutes (a 15-point deficit), the Hawks showed some extremely positive mental attitudes in the third and fourth quarters (even leading by 5 points). Nevertheless, it was not enough to defeat their guests who took better decisions in the money time. Bart Samaey (199-C-87) and Sebastien Vermeulen (207-F/C-81), again very present in the paint and in defense, helped BS Waregem to keep things under control when the crunch came in this game. Samaey and Vermeulen respectively grabbed 10 and 8 rebounds. Special mention to BS Waregem's scorer Brecht Guillemyn (192-F-87) who put up 26 points in the winning effort last weekend.
Score evolution: 16-23, 28-38, 50-57 and 73-77.
Best scorers:
Hawks: R. Spaens 16, Y. Vandeveire 2, G. Depooter 14, R. Luyten 7, J.-P. De Decker 15, L. Lhote 6, S. Bellin 13.
BS Waregem: L. De Lepeleire 10, B. Samaey 14, B. Van Hulle 5, B. Guillemyn 26, T. Foucart 12, S. Dhondt 8, S. Vermeulen 2.

Basics Melsele vs. Port of Antwerp Giants II: 100-89 (after two OTs)
In the first half, Thomas Lamot (190-F-87) and Hugo Sterk (193-G/F-82, agency: Court Side, college: Santa Monica CC) set the tone offensively for Basics Melsele. The hosts were pretty efficient in offense but the Giants II leveled the game just before the break and in the third quarter. Yannick Schoepen (202-C-92) and Andy Van Vliet (210-C-95) grabbed many crucial rebounds for the visitors. Both Thomas Akyazili (180-PG-97) and Philippe Peeters (188-PG-95) converted nice shots and led the guests in offense. Two overtimes were necessary for the team of Coach Ronny Bayer to get rid of valiant young Giants.
Score evolution: ..-.., 41-35, 65-57, 76-76, 85-85 (1st OT) and 100-89 (2nd OT).
Best scorers:
Basics: N/A
Giants II: T. Akyazli 16, P. Peeters 12, A. Baptista 2, A. Van Vliet 9, C. Aertssen 15, R. Bogaerts 8, M. Gijbels 10, Y. Schoepen 11, B. Van Den Broeck 6.

Turuka '90 Willebroek vs. Sint-Niklase Condors: 46-60
Turuka '90 Willebroek of Coach Toon Labbekke could only score 13 points in the first two quarters. The Condors have started the season with two victories in a row in 2013-14. In a short interview published in the daily newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws on Tuesday Sep. 17th, 2013, Sint-Niklase Condors' Coach Steven Ibens said he had been happy about the very good first half of his team but had been very disappointed about the second one. His Condors lost concentration and only scored 18 points in the last twenty minutes of the game. Four Condors did not play last weekend: De Beukeleer, Bogaerts, De Bock and Van Caeneghem.
Score evolution: 5-13, 13-42, 29-49 and 46-60.

BBC Haantjes Oudenaarde vs. Soba Antwerpen: 77-72
Soba should still play without injured players Robin Haerbos (180-PG-94) and Lars Tielens (190-G-88) in the next four regular season games. The team of Coach Glenn De Boeck finished only 5 points behind. The BBC Haantjes Oudenaarde is a good mix of experienced players and young talents. The Haantjes of Coach Aleksander Peldic recorded their first win of the regular season.

CEP Fleurus vs. Spirou Charleroi B: 100-54
Spirou B coached by Assistant Coach Jaume Avino started well but could not challenge their hosts very long. A zone defense was quickly set by CEP F Coach Patrick Verdun and his team reacted very well afterwards. The men of Coach Verdun gave no chance to the young Spirou players in the derby played on Sunday afternoon. Special mention to CEP player Rik Van den Berghe (208-C-93) who was offered some time to play and had an excellent second half offensively. Together with Louis Hazard (199-F-94), Christian Ilongo (194-F-85, agency: Promotex) and other mates, Rik Van den Berghe helped his team to dig a huge gap after the break. The CEP side still misses Nicolas Tsasa (G-88), unavailable due to injury.
See free video highlights made available on the Telesambre website: http://telesambre.rtc.be/content/view/18262/166/.
Score evolution: 27-14, 45-26, 68-38 and 100-54.
Best scorers:
CEP F: G. Lemy 2, K. Jonniaux 13, T. Depouhon 14, R. Van Den Berghe 12, C. Manzanza 2, A. Marion 9, J. Moonen 8, L. Hazard 23, C. Ilongo 17.
Spirou B: L. Lefever 4, L. Van Den Berghe 2, M. Fusek 10, A. Lambot 9, M. Lebrun 6, M. Salvo Llambrich 8, A. Kiraranganya 4, H. Sylva 4, A. Eyenga 7.

Sint-Jan Antwerpen vs. Cuva Houthalen: 89-62
Pretty good performance by the Jantjes of Coach Steve Cornelis who never seemd to be in trouble in this game. Idris Lasisi (188-G/F, college: Whitworth) and Senne Geukens (190-G-83) scored 56 of the 89 points for their team. Only Hans Vanwijn (205-F-95) reached the double digits in scoring for the visiting Limburgers.

Euromillions League Round 32: Antwerp Giants are defeated by Spirou Charleroi - 2 days ago
The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds. The most important game in the last round took place in Charleroi between second ranked Antwerp Giants (20-12) and seventh ranked Spirou Charleroi (15-17) on Wednesday night. Antwerp Giants were defeated by Spirou Charleroi in a tough game on the road 78-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Antwerp Giants. Spirou Charleroi m...   [read more]
