The Regular Season in Ethias League is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Base Oostende as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Base Oostende defeated 7th ranked Liege Basket at home 85-78. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 44-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Base Oostende made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Liege Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Brent Wright (203-78, college: Florida) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Base Oostende's coach Dario Gjergja used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Liege Basket at the other side keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. Liege Basket will play next round against strong Belfius Mons-Hainaut trying to get back on the winning streak. Base Oostende will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Spirou Charleroi at home.
