Spirou Charleroi (16-9) survived in overtime against Belfius Mons-Hainaut (16-10) by seven points 65-58 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Belfius Mons-Hainaut. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Devin Green who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Spirou Charleroi moved-up to second place. Belfius Mons-Hainaut at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Spirou Charleroi will face Liege Basket (#7) in Liege in the next round where they are favorite. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will play at home against the league's leader Base Oostende (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best stats of 26th round was 28 points by Timothy Black of Antwerp.


Verviers-Pep. - Leuven 80-85

There was no surprise when 8th ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (4-22) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Leuven Bears (9-16) 85-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Leuven Bears shot 27 for 41 from the free-throw line, while VOO Verviers-Pepinster only scored ten points from the stripe. VOO Verviers-Pepinster was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Bradford Burgess (198-90, college: VCU, agency: Interperformances) who scored 22 points and 4 steals. International point guard Niels Marnegrave (191-87) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. Leuven Bears' coach Jurgen Van Meerbeeck used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Stephane Moris (207-86, agency: Promotex) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Boris Penninck (202-88) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Leuven Bears maintains sixth position with 9-16 record. VOO Verviers-Pepinster lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Okapi Aalstar (16-10) defeated at home 7th ranked Liege Basket (8-18) 82-72 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Okapi Aalstar. Liege Basket was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. The other American import Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. American swingman B.J. Monteiro (195-90, college: Duquesne, agency: Two Points) produced 16 points and international forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests.
