Brian Qvale
24-year old center Brian Qvale (210-C-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for M.Hainaut and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Oostende (#1, 19-8) 75-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. M.Hainaut maintains the 3rd position in Belgian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. M.Hainaut will need more victories to improve their 17-10 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Qvale as usually he does not deliver so high stats. University of Montana graduate has very impressive stats this year. Qvale is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 6.6rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 66.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Derek Raivio (190-SG-84) of Aalstar. He is American guard in his first season at Aalstar. In the last game Raivio recorded impressive 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he lead Aalstar to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Verviers-Pep. (#8, 4-23) 101-69. Aalstar's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 17-10 record is not bad at all. Raivio is a newcomer at Aalstar and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#2). He also recorded 3.8 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-F-83, agency: SportsTalent) of Liege (#7). Mukubu scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Mukubu's great performance Liege lost 74-97 to the higher-ranked Spirou (#2, 17-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Liege can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Mukubu he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mukubu has individually a great season in Belgium. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 6.0rpg (8th best). Wen Boss Mukubu has also Belgian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Christopher Young (206-F/C-79) of Aalstar - 15 points and 9 rebounds
5. Jason Love (206-F/C-87) of Antwerp - 11 points and 13 rebounds
6. Timothy Black (178-PG-81) of Antwerp - 11 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Bradford Burgess (198-G/F-90) of Leuven - 19 points and 5 rebounds
8. Jerome Randle (178-PG-87) of Spirou - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Boris Penninck (202-C-88) of Verviers-Pep. - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Alex Ruoff (198-G-86) of Aalstar - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
