Croatian Mario Filipovic (196-G/F-88) had a great game in the last round for Vogosca and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 24-year old swingman had the game-high 41 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Vogosca in his team's victory, helping them to beat Zrinjski HT (#7, 8-11) 94-89. Vogosca is placed at 10th position in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. Vogosca is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-12 record. In the team's last game Filipovic had a remarkable 82.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Vogosca's top player in his first season with the team. Filipovic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.3ppg) and averages solid 65.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old center Amar Suljagic (210-C-88) of Kakanj. Suljagic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Kakanj lost that game 64-77 to the higher-ranked Capljina (#1, 14-5). This loss caused Kakanj to drop to 11th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-12 record. Suljagic is one of the most experienced players at Kakanj and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Montenegrin Boris Lalovic (209-C-81) of Zrinjski HT (#7). Lalovic showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Lalovic's great performance Zrinjski HT lost 89-94 to the lower-ranked Vogosca (#10, 7-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Zrinjski HT ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lalovic could help Zrinjski HT to bring them higher in the standings. Lalovic has a great season in Bosnia. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.2rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ivan Bakovic (197-G-81) of Posusje - 32 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Milan Keser (206-C-82) of Vogosca - 19 points and 11 rebounds
6. Djordje Ninkovic (210-C-93) of Leotar - 22 points and 10 rebounds
7. Kresimir Mustapic (206-F-90) of Posusje - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Dinko Peljto (187-PG-87) of Kakanj - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Milan Kezic (193-SG-86) of Mladost - 21 points and 5 rebounds
10. Krsto Bjelica (192-G-88) of Capljina - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Bosnians in the NBA this season! Recap! - 18 hours ago
Bosnians in the NBA this season! Recap! Dragan Bender: Dragan struggled in his adjustment to the NBA. The physical aspect, the travel, the games and even the rules changes all proved vexing to him during the season. It's not easy being a teenager in the NBA and Dragan is still only 19 and won't turn 20 until after the next season begins. They limited his exposure in games and minutes on the floor, they obviously didn't think extended game exposure would be that beneficial to him at this...   [read more]
