Levski joined Galil Gilboa in the Balkan League Final. They shot down their Bulgarian rivals Rilski Sportist in the second semifinal in Samokov tonight. Pavel Ivanov (200-SF-88) stepped up with 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead Levski.
Levski stunned their opponents in the opening quarter. They opened the game on a 16:5 run. Levski piled up a 24:9 lead after the starting quarter. Rilski came back to life in the second quarter. They outgunned Levski to narrow the deficit at 12-point mark at halftime 43:31. Levski were back in the drivers seat in the third quarter. They opened an 18-point lead midway through the period. Levski entered the fourth frame up by 19 points 64:45. But the game was not over just yet. Rilski went on an 11:0 run to get within 7 points 59:66 midway through the fourth stanza. Marko Marinovic (183-PG-83) drained a timely three-pointer to restore a 10-point advantage for Levski. Gugino put Rilski within 6 with 28 seconds remaining. Protic and Pavel Ivanov then sank four free throws to seal the victory for Levski. Mladen Pantic (209-C-82, agency: Alti Sport) had 18 points, while Marko Marinovic added 16 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds for the winners. Branko Mirkovic (190-G-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 20 points for Rilski Sportist. Terry Smith (185-PG-86, college: Mercyhurst) and Stanislav Vaklinov (206-PF-89, agency: Interperformances) had 13 points each in the loss.

KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje (Prva Liga) landed 29-year old Bulgarian international shooting guard Chavdar Kostov (195-93kg-88, agency: Interperformances). He was about to sign at GS Kymis in Greek A1 league. The last season Kostov played also at Kymis (also in A1) where in 18 games he averaged 8.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.0spg. Cherno More Ticha (NBL) agreed terms with 30-year old ex-international point guard Plamen Aleksiev (180-77kg-87). It is actually his comeback to Cherno More as he has played here before. Aleksiev played last season at Beroe (NBL). In 27 games he had 6.4ppg, 1.6rpg and 3.0apg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Anthony Raffa (ex Roma Virtus) signs at Lukoil Academic Sofia - 2 days ago
Lukoil Academic Sofia (NBL) landed 28-year old American (has also Italian passport) point guard Anthony Raffa (185-77kg-89, college: Co.Carolina). He played most recently at Roma Virtus in Italian Serie A2. In 34 games he averaged impressive 18.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.8apg and 1.0spg last season.
