Dejan Ivanov
Virtus 1934 Bologna (D dilettanti) inked 27-year old Bulgarian international power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-104kg-86, agency: Beo Basket). Ivanov managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). He played most recently at Cimberio Varese in Italian SerieA. In 8 games he recorded 4.9ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.4spg. He also played at Lietuvos rytas (LKL) in Lithuanian league that season. The team played in three different competitions that year, and Ivanov had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 9 LKL games he averaged 6.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.4apg. He also played 10 games in Euroleague where he averaged 6.8ppg and 4.6rpg. Ivanov also played 16 games in VTB United League where he averaged 8.4ppg and 6.1rpg.
Ivanov's team won Italian SerieA Regular Season.
The previous (11-12) season he played at S.S. Sutor Montegranaro (SerieA). In 32 games he averaged 13.1ppg, 8.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg. A very good season in his career as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Bosman Player of the Year. He also represented Bulgaria at the European Championships in Lithuania two years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 10.4ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.2apg, FGP: 39.2%, FT: 63.2%.
Ivanov is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Croatia (KK Split and KK Zadar), Russia (Avtodor), Spain (Cajasol, Basquet Mallorca and Qalat CajaSol) and Bulgaria (Euroins Cherno More).
Ivanov's game is described as: Huge potential. One of the top tall players in Europe his age. Already knows how to play close to the basket. Has also quite few years of experience as he started playing organized basketball in the age of 12. Maybe a little bit too slow on his legs. But knows how to take a good position close to the basket. Reliable short distance shoot.
