Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bulgarians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA, currently plays in VTB United League). He led his Latvian team VEF Riga to a 3-point victory against the closely-ranked Lokomotiv (12-6) 98-95 in the VTB United League last Sunday. Rowland recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists. VEF Riga (11-7) is placed fourth in group B. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Rowland's first season with the team. Rowland is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (third place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Rowland averages: 17.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 5.9apg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 56.8%(100-176), 3FGP: 27.8% and FT: 84.0%. He is a naturalized American. Rowland played for the Bulgarian senior national team two years ago. Strangely he has never played in Bulgaria.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain. Calloway could not help Unicaja Malaga (6-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance the fifth-placed Unicaja Malaga lost 66-70 on the road to the leading CSKA Moscow in the group E of Euroleague. Calloway scored 10 points in 20 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. This year Calloway's overall stats are: 9.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 56.1%(37-66), 3FGP: 45.1%(37-82) and FT: 73.3% in the 22 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Calloway played for the Bulgarian national team in 2010. Apparently he has never played in Bulgaria.

   #3. The Bulgarian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Lithuania). Ivanov contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked LSU-Baltai (5-12) crushing them 111-61 in the Lithuanian LKL last Tuesday. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius (7-2) is placed eighth in the LKL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. This year Ivanov's total stats are: 7.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 54.3% and FT: 74.1% in the eight games. He played for the Bulgarian national team two years ago.

   #4. Shooting guard Ivan Lilov (196-88, currently plays in Romania) was not able to help Gaz Metan (18-10) in their game against Ploiesti (21-7) in the Romanian Liga Nationala. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Lilov was the top scorer with 17 points. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Lilov has relatively good stats this season: 10.2ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg. He is also Bulgarian national team player.

   #5. An experienced international small forward Filip Videnov (196-80, agency: Alti Sport, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Olin Edirne (5-18) in their game against Turk Telekom (7-16) in the Turkish TBL, despite his very good performance in Saturday night's game. Videnov was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 31 minutes. But Olin Edirne lost 63-67 at home to the higher-ranked (#13) Turk Telekom. It was Olin Edirne's third consecutive loss in a row. Videnov has very impressive stats this year: 16.5ppg, 4.1rpg and 2.9apg in the eight games. He plays currently for the Bulgarian national team.

   #6. Power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: N.Carolina St., currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Enel Brindisi (10-14) in their game against Air Avellino (9-14) in the Italian SerieA. Despite his good performance last Sunday Simmons scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Simmons has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.2bpg. He is a naturalized American. Simmons is an international player who is currently on the senior Bulgarian National Team roster. Interesting that he has never played in Bulgaria.

   #7. Former international guard Roderick Blakney (184-76, college: S.Carolina St., currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Cajasol (9-17) in their game against Regal FC Barcelona (17-9) in the Spanish ACB, despite his good performance last Saturday. He was the second best scorer with 10 points in only 13 minutes. But Cajasol was badly defeated 91-72 on their home court in Sevilla by the much higher-ranked (#3) Regal FC Barcelona. It was Cajasol's third consecutive loss in a row. Blakney has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 2.3apg in the 15 games. He is a naturalized American. Blakney used to play for the Bulgarian national team six years ago. However he has never played in Bulgaria.

   #8. Guard Aleksandar Gruev (187-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Romania) led CSU Sibiu to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked CS Farul Constanta (6-22) crushing them 89-63 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. He recorded 13 points and added 5 passes in 34 minutes. CSU Atlassib Sibiu (14-14) is placed ninth in the Liga Nationala. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Gruev is currently seventh on the list of best passers with 4.6apg. He also averaged so far 14.3ppg and 2.5rpg in the 26 games. Gruev used to play for the Bulgarian national team back in 2011.

Former international center Krum Doychinov (206-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help OFI (6-15) in their game against Agia Paraskevis (5-9) in the Greek A2 (second division). Despite his very good performance last Saturday He scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Doychinov is the league's best blocker. He has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg. Doychinov used to play for the Bulgarian national team three years ago.

Guard Georgi Sirakov (186-92, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Mazzeo San Severo (9-19) in their game against Latina Basket (10-18) in the Italian Nazionale A (third division), despite his good performance on Sunday night. He was the top scorer with 12 points in 27 minutes. But Mazzeo San Severo was edged 73-71 in Latina by the higher-ranked (#16) Basket. This year Sirakov averages only 7.8ppg in the 28 games. He is a former U20 international player as two years ago he still played for the Bulgarian national team.

   #11. Former international guard Andre Owens (193-80, college: Houston, currently plays in Cyprus) couldn't help Keravnos in their game against Apoel in the Cypriot Division A. Owens cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. His team was defeated 63-54. Owens has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.4apg. He is a naturalized American. Owens used to play for the Bulgarian national team four years ago. He played also for Lukoil Academik Sofia in Bulgarian league.

   #12. International power forward Hristo Nikolov (200-85, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help U-Mobitelco in their game against Craiova in the Romanian Liga Nationala. Nikolov cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team lost 72-80. This year Nikolov has relatively solid stats: 13.7ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg in the 27 games. He is also in the roster of the Bulgarian national team.

   #13. International forward Aleksandar Georgiev (203-90, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Assignia Manresa in a victory against the fifth-ranked Gescrap BB 82-79 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He scored only 4 points in 5 minutes on the court. Georgiev has averaged so far 4.6ppg and 2.2rpg in the 26 games. He is also Bulgarian national team player.

   #14. Former international power forward Vassil Evtimov (208-77, college: N.Carolina, currently plays in France) couldn't help Limoges CSP Elite in their game against Le Mans in the French ProA. Evtimov cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. His team was defeated 77-69. This season Evtimov averages just 1.1ppg. He used to play for the Bulgarian national team back in 2009.


The list of other players, who all have Bulgarian passport but never been selected to any of Bulgarian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Willie Deane (188-PG-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Purdue, currently plays in Ukraine) led Khimik to an overtime victory over the league leader Budivelnyk (28-10) 93-88 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Deane scored 26 points (!!!) and added 9 assists in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Khimik-OPZ Yuzny (23-13) is placed third in the Superleague. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Deane has relatively good stats this year: 12.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 6.0apg and 1.1spg in the 34 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Deane used to play for PBC Lukoil Akademik Sophia in Bulgarian league.

   #2. Pero Antic (210-F-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Greece could not help Olympiacos (7-5) to beat Maccabi T-A (7-5). Antic scored 7 points. Olympiacos (#4) was defeated 73-67 at home by the higher-ranked Maccabi T-A (#3) in the group F of Euroleague. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. Antic's total stats this season are: 6.0ppg and 3.5rpg. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Bulgarian.

   #3. Ilian Evtimov (201-F-83, college: N.Carolina St., currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Poitiers (7-17) crushing them 84-52 in the French ProA on Saturday night. Evtimov scored 7 points in 18 minutes. ES Chalon-Sur-Saone (16-8) is placed third in the ProA. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Evtimov has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg in the 19 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Bulgarian and French.

   #4. Kee Kee Clark (180-PG-84, college: St.Peter's, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Angelico Biella (5-19) crushing them 97-62 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Clark scored 10 points and added 4 passes. Umana Reyer Venezia (12-12) is placed eighth in the SerieA. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. This season Clark has relatively solid stats: 13.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.4apg. He is a naturalized American. However Clark has never played in Bulgaria.

   #5. Dimitar Karadzovski (190-G-84, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in FYR Macedonia), who plays in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga was not able to help Kozuv (0-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Karadzovski's good performance Kozuv (#5) was defeated 77-71 on the road by the second-ranked MZT Skopje in the Places 1-6 group. He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Karadzovski also added 3 assists. Karadzovski is currently fourth on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.7ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.6apg. Karadzovski has both Bulgarian and FYR Macedonian nationalities.

   #6. Kristoffer Gafor (194-G-92, currently plays in Sweden) led Malbas to a victory against the third-ranked Boras II 85-72 in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) on Sunday night. Gafor recorded 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Gafor has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.2ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.6apg and 2.0spg. Gafor also holds two passports: Swedish and Bulgarian.

Akademik Bultex 99 Plovdiv (NBL) confirmed in their roster 25-year old shooting guard Vasil Bachev (195-80kg-92, college: Cuesta JC). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 21 NBL games he had 7.2ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.3apg last season. Bachev helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Soles de Santo Domingo (LNB) inked 27-year old American center Tony Woods (211-110kg-90, college: Oregon). He played most recently at Rilski in Bulgarian NBL league. In 10 games he averaged 4.2ppg and 3.4rpg last season. Woods also spent pre-season at Doxa Lefkadas (A1) in Greek league that year. His college team won Pac-12 Tournament in 2013. Yokohama B-Corsairs (B League) confirmed in their roster 27-year old Bulgarian international center Jason Washburn (210-110kg-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Washburn played there last season. In 54 B League games he had 14.6ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.2apg.
