Lukoil Academic secured first place in the regular season championship. The champions willl finish at the top after home success over its main rival Levski by the score 98-94. Both teams played a very interesting and challenging match but at the same time very nervous.

Both teams played an equal first quarter, which ended even at 24 apiece. However second quarter began with a series of 7-0 for the hosts and soon made a double-digit difference. At the break Lukoil Academic was up by ten points 56-46.

Levski started much better in the second half and even grabbed the lead at 67-64. Lukoil Academic responded with a new series of 13-0 and the difference once again was 10 points in their favor. Nemanja Protic scored and cut the lead to 8 before the last ten minutes 80-72.

With a few good moves by Stefan Georgiev guests reduced the distance to only 3 points. Then both teams went basket for basket, but at the end champions held up the pressure and won the match.

Top scorer for the hosts victory Bojan Popovic (191-G-83) had 18 points and Brandon Heath added 16.

For guests Marko Marinovic was the best with 24 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Mladen Pantic added 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Pavel Ivanov also had 16 points.

In the next round Lukoil visit the Cherno More in Varna, while Levski will travel to play against Spartak in Pleven.
