The game was mostly controlled by Rilski Sportist. Tundja Yambol managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rilski Sportist forced 20 Tundja Yambol turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Rilski Sportist players scored in double figures. Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Milosevic (204-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and international Martin Durchev (204-87, agency: FCM) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Tundja Yambol. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Balkan made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Brazilian center Atila Santos (208-83, college: Minnesota St., agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian forward Vladimir Panic (194-82) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Rilski Sportist Samokov (NBL) landed 27-year old American forward Travis Taylor (203-100kg-90, college: Xavier). He played most recently at Fribourg Olympic in Swiss LNA league.
