Croatia celebrated the second consecutive victory at the European Championship in Slovenia. They knocked down Poland to improve at 2-1 record in Group C. Poland suffered the third defeat in a row. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) stepped up with 23 points for the winners.
Croatia silenced Poland in the opening minutes. Jasmin Repesa team opened the encounter on a 19:2 run. Croatia ensured a 24:12 lead after ten minutes. Szubarga and Michal Ignerski (207-F-80, agency: Stanley International, college: Mississippi St.) pulled Poland within 8 points 25:33 midway through the second term. However Croatia did not allow Poland any closer in the reminder of the half. They recorded a 41:32 halftime lead. Bogdanovic carried Croatia to a 56:38 lead in the third term. Marcin Gortat (211-C-84) and Michal Ignerski capped the third term with 5 straight points as Poland cut the deficit at 13-point mark. Poland tipped off the fourth frame on a 16:4 run to get within 1 point 65:66. Ukic finally found the bucket for Croatia sinking a jumper. Szubarga and Markota exchanged baskets as Croatia entered the final 90 seconds of the game up by three points. Szubarga, Michal Ignerski and Koszarek missed their three-point attempts and Bojan Bogdanovic punished them with a layup in the fast break. Poland could not convert after the timeout and Ukic sealed the victory from the stripe. Krunoslav Simon (197-G/F-85) finished with 14 points, while Damjan Rudez (203-F-86, agency: FCM) added 9 points in the win. Michal Ignerski answered with 22 points and 12 boards for Poland. Marcin Gortat had 14 points in the loss.

Zagreb made their first addition for the upcoming season by signing Franko Sango (201-PF-92) on a one-year deal. Sango arrives from Italian Serie C Gold side Polisportiva Basket Lierna. He grew up with Zadar and has already played for Pet Bunara Zadar in A2 League and Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod. In his last Croatian A1 League's season, 2015-16 with Zadar, Sango averaged 4.5 point and 1.2 rebounds in 16 games. Juraj Segaric (ex-Helios Suns) joins Gostivar - 1 day ago
Juraj Segaric(185-PG-93) will continue his career in Macedonia. He signed a one-year contract with Gostivar. Segaric started last season with Bulgarian side Beroe, in January moved to Jazine Arbanasi in Croatian A2 League and the next month joined Helios Suns, where he averaged 5.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.4 steals in 13 Slovenian League games. Croatia - Ukraine 79:74 Croatia won Opatija home tournament beating Ukraine 79-74. Both teams stayed close to each other, Croatia won the first period 18-17, but then Ukraine replied with a 22-16 run.
