Sixth-ranked KK Split (4-7) was very close to win a game against third ranked KK Zadar (8-3) on Saturday. KK Zadar managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But KK Split won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marko Ramljak (201-93, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 9 rebounds. Center Ive Ivanov (200-85) contributed with 13 points for the winners. KK Zadar's coach Ante Nazor used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Srdan Subotic (190-80, agency: XL Basketball Agency) answered with 19 points for KK Split. KK Zadar maintains third place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Darda. KK Split lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. KK Zadar is looking forward to face Kvarner 2010 (#5) in Rijeka in the next round. KK Split will play at home against KK Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Strawberry helped adding 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International Marko Car (188-85) responded with 23 points and 6 assists. Cibona have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. KK Zagreb lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Cibona will play against Jolly (#4) in Sibenik in the next round. KK Zagreb will play on the road against KK Split and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bottom-ranked Alkar Sinj is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to fifth ranked Jolly (6-5) 86-80. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Alkar Sinj won third quarter 31-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jolly players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Bosnian guard Josip Naletilic (195-89, agency: Interperformances) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Jolly players scored in double figures. Swingman Slavko Modric (203-84) produced 21 points and point guard Rudolf Jugo (183-84) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Alkar Sinj's coach Boris Poljak rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jolly moved-up to fourth place. Alkar Sinj at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. An interesting game for Cedevita (9-2) which hosted in Zagreb 4th placed Kvarner 2010 (5-6). Second ranked Cedevita had an easy win 87-48. It was a great evening for American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Panevezys Lietkabelis (LKL) is close to ink 29-year old Croatian international guard Ante Delas (200-88) who played last time at BCC Corvengenze Agropoli in Italy. Delas managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 11 Serie A2 games he averaged 11.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg.
