After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the A1 and who belongs to weaker ones.

There was a change at the A1 leadership position after last games. The most shocking disappointment of round 3 was a defeat of league's leader KK Zagreb (0-3). They were crushed by seventh ranked KK Zadar (2-1) 92-73 on Saturday night. The game without a history. KK Zadar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for Bosnian center Barisa Krasic (203-78) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Ante Delas (200-88) helped adding 13 points. KK Zadar's coach Ante Nazor used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91) with 18 points and 8 rebounds. KK Zadar moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. KK Zagreb at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Alkar Sinj. They were replaced at the leadership position by Djuro Djakovic. KK Zagreb will play next round against league's leader Cibona trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Zagreb to the arena of Cibona. KK Zadar will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked KK Split on the road.

It was an exceptional evening for center Miro Bilan (215-89) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Bracey Wright accounted for 18 points. Cedevita's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds for KK Split in the defeat. Cedevita moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KK Split. Cedevita will play against Krizevci (#5) on the road in the next round. KK Split will play against KK Zadar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Jolly moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Kvarner 2010 dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Jolly will meet Alkar Sinj (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kvarner 2010 will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 3 Cibona won against Alkar Sinj on the opponent's court 81-65.


Zadar - KK Zagreb 92-73

The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. KK Split was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for center Miro Bilan (215-89) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana, agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Cedevita's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87) added 15 points respectively for KK Split in the defeat. Cedevita moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KK Split. Cedevita will play against Krizevci (#5) on the road in the next round. KK Split will play against KK Zadar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Sibenik. Third ranked host Jolly (2-1) defeated second-best Kvarner 2010 (1-2) 87-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kvarner 2010. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Kvarner 2010 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Jolly dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kvarner 2010's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Domagoj Bubalo (214-91) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Alkar Sinj - Cibona 65-81

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Alkar Sinj (0-3) was defeated at home by leader Cibona (3-0) 81-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cibona. Alkar Sinj managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Alkar Sinj 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international power forward Dario Saric (208-94) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. The former international center Andrija Zizic (207-80, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Domagoj Kanaet (197-93) who recorded 7 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Luka Zitko (201-81) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Alkar Sinj's coach Boris Poljak rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Cibona have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Alkar Sinj still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with KK Zagreb. Cibona's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb KK Zagreb.

Kolossos H Hotels (A1) agreed terms with 26-year old Croatian guard Toni Prostran (182-91). He played last season at Nevezis in Lithuanian LKL league. In 29 games he had 11.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 7.0apg (leader !!!). Quite impressive season as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Bosman Player of the Year and named to Honorable Mention. KK Cedevita Zagreb (A1) to sign 32-year old American power forward Chris Johnson (210-107kg-85, college: LSU) who plays at Anhui Wenyi in China. In 18 NBL games he had very impressive stats: 33.4ppg, 18.8rpg, 1.9apg, 1.8spg and 1.9bpg last season.
