The biggest surprise of round 4 was guest KK Zadar's (3-1) road victory over KK Split (#5) 75-61 on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. KK Zadar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bosnian-Slovenian center Jusuf Nurkic (212-94) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. KK Zadar moved-up to second place, which they share with Jolly and Cedevita. KK Split at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. KK Zadar is looking forward to face Kvarner 2010 (#6) in Rijeka in the next round. KK Split will play on the road against KK Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Zagreb: Cibona (#1) and KK Zagreb (#7). Cibona (4-0) won against visiting KK Zagreb (0-4) 93-83. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Marin Rozic (201-83, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Dario Saric contributed with 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds for KK Zagreb. Cibona have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. KK Zagreb at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Alkar Sinj. Cibona will play against Jolly (#3) in Sibenik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. KK Zagreb will play at home against KK Split (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Alkar Sinj (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 65-50 loss to fourth ranked Jolly (3-1) in Sinj on Wednesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Worth to mention a great performance of Ronald Ross who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Josip Matic responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jolly moved-up to second place, which they share with Zadar and Cedevita. Loser Alkar Sinj still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with KK Zagreb. Jolly will meet at home league's leader Cibona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cedevita's next round opponent will be Alkar Sinj (#8) at home where they are favorite. Kvarner 2010 will play against the league's second-placed KK Zadar.
