A1 is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 7 rounds left.

Round 7 in A1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Zagreb where host Cedevita (6-1) beat league's leader Cibona (6-1) 78-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cibona. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cibona won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cibona 40-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana, agency: Priority Sports) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Marino Bazdaric (195-78) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) produced 17 points for lost side. Cedevita have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Cibona. Cibona will play next round against Kvarner 2010 trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cedevita will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked KK Zadar on the road.
Important game to mention about took place in Zadar. Fourth ranked Jolly (4-3) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging 3rd placed KK Zadar (5-2) 73-71 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds. Luka Katura contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds for KK Zadar. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jolly maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. KK Zadar at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Jolly will play against KK Zagreb (#7) on the road in the next round. KK Zadar will play against the league's leader Cedevita (#1) in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Kvarner 2010's coach Vladimir Anzulovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Filip Kraljevic responded with 20 points and 8 blocks. Kvarner 2010 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated KK Split. Kvarner 2010 will meet league's second-placed Cibona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KK Split will play against Alkar Sinj and hope to secure a win.
KK Zagreb can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Alkar Sinj (0-7) 90-84. It was an exceptional evening for Ante Krapic who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Alkar Sinj's coach Boris Poljak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KK Zagreb maintains seventh place with 1-6 record. It was Alkar Sinj's seventh loss in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. KK Zagreb's next round opponent will be higher ranked Jolly (#4) in Sibenik and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alkar Sinj will play on the road against KK Split (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The best stats of 7th round was 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds by Mate Mrva of Jolly.

Zadar - Jolly 71-73

A very close game took place in Split between Kvarner 2010 and KK Split. Sixth ranked Kvarner 2010 (3-4) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed KK Split (3-4). Kvarner 2010 managed to escape with a 2-point win 67-65 in the fight for the fifth place. The guests trailed by 18 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Kvarner 2010 dominated on the defensive end, holding KK Split to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a great evening for forward Ivica Radic (208-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Jure Skific (202-88) helped adding 18 points. Kvarner 2010's coach Vladimir Anzulovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game.
