Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Croatians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, currently plays in Spain). He was the major contributor in a Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the seventh-ranked CAI Zaragoza (14-11) 89-81 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Tomic recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 24 minutes on the court. Regal FC Barcelona (16-9) is placed third in the ACB. Tomic is currently first on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). He has very reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 62.4%(138-221) and FT: 66.2% in the 25 games he played so far. Tomic played for the Croatian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Luka Zoric (211-84, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Spanish team Unicaja Malaga to a 3-point victory over the second-ranked Real Madrid (9-2) 77-74 in the Euroleague last Friday. Zoric was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 12 rebounds. Zoric also added 2 blocks. Unicaja Malaga (6-5) is placed fifth in group E. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. Zoric has relatively good stats this season: 12.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 57.0%(98-172) and FT: 76.5%. He is in the roster of the Croatian senior national team.

The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Luka Zoric and both played together in the last Euroleague game. Simon led his Spanish team Unicaja Malaga to a 3-point victory against the second-ranked Real Madrid (9-2) 77-74. He scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year Simon has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 42.0%, 3FGP: 38.0% and FT: 89.6% in the 20 games. He is also a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Russia could not help Khimky (6-5) to beat Maccabi T-A (6-5). Loncar scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The fourth-placed Khimky was edged 80-79 on the road by the lower-ranked Maccabi T-A (#6) in the group F of Euroleague. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. This season Loncar averages: 8.6ppg and 3.9rpg. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2010.

International point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked ALBA Berlin (1-10) crushing them 82-58 in the Euroleague last Friday. Ukic scored 8 points and added 6 assists in 23 minutes. Panathinaikos Athens (7-4) is placed fourth in group E. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be important. This year Ukic's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.6apg in the 20 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

Swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89, currently plays in Eurocup) led his Spanish team Gescrap BB to an easy victory against the closely-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (3-3) crushing them 101-78 in the Eurocup on Tuesday night. Pilepic scored 12 points. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (4-2) is placed first. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Pilepic's first season with the team. This year he averages only 6.1ppg. Pilepic is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

   #7. Former U20 international center Leon Radosevic (206-90, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA was not able to help Armani Milano (14-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance Armani Milano was edged 81-78 in Cremona by the lower-ranked (#11) Vanoli. Radosevic was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. This year Radosevic's total stats are: 5.7ppg and 3.0rpg in the seven games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team three years ago.

   #8. Center Jure Lalic (210-86, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to secure a victory for Krka (9-16) in their game against Cedevita (14-11) in the Adriatic League. Despite his very good performance last Monday Lalic was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Lalic's team will play only one more game in the Adriatic League Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. Lalic has averaged so far 9.8ppg and 4.0rpg. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team back in 2006.

   #9. Former international forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Leon Radosevic in the Italian SerieA last game. Peric led Vanoli Cremona to a surprising victory over the fifth-ranked Armani Milano (14-9) 81-78. He was the best player in that game. Peric scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 37 minutes. Peric has reliable stats this year: 13.0ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg in the 16 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team six years ago.

An experienced forward Jasmin Perkovic (205-80, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Adriatic League) couldn't help Un.Olimpija (13-12) in their game against HKK Siroki WWin (9-16) in the Adriatic League. Perkovic recorded 8 points. Un.Olimpija was edged in an overtime 85-82 at home by the lower-ranked HKK Siroki WWin (#11). His team will play only one more game in the Adriatic League Regular Season. Perkovic has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.1apg. He is a former U21 international player as twelve years ago he still played for the Croatian national team.

   #11. International center Darko Planinic (211-90, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv in a victory against the league leader Maccabi Ashdod 90-71 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. Planinic scored only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 13 minutes. Planinic has averaged so far 4.8ppg and 2.8rpg in the 11 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #12. Former international power forward Sime Spralja (206-83, also represented by Court Side, currently plays in Poland) led Trefl Sopot to a 1-point victory against the fourth-ranked Asseco Prokom Gdynia 73-72 in the Polish TBL on Sunday night. Spralja scored 11 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Spralja has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2004.

   #13. Former international guard Zoran Vrkic (200-87, currently plays in Greece) led Ikaros to a 3-point victory over the 12th-ranked Kavala 76-73 in the Greek A1 in Saturday night's game. Vrkic was the top player that evening. He scored 17 points in 36 minutes. Vrkic's stats this year are: 11.8ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.7apg in the 17 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago.

   #14. International forward Damjan Rudez (208-86, currently plays in Spain) faced previously mentioned Ante Tomic in the Spanish ACB last game. Rudez couldn't help CAI Zaragoza in their game against Regal FC Barcelona. Despite his good performance last Sunday He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Rudez's stats this season are: 10.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.1apg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #15. Former international point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Real Madrid in their game against CB Canarias in the Spanish ACB. Draper cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points. His team was defeated 96-83. Draper has averaged so far 4.3ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.6apg. He is a naturalized American. Draper used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago. He played also for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatian league.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Anthony Drmic (198-G/F-92, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Boise St. (9-7) in their last game. Despite Drmic's very good performance the Boise St. lost 67-73 on the road to the San Diego State University. He scored 20 points and had 3 steals in 35 minutes. Drmic's team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season. Drmic averaged so far 10.4ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.1apg in the 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Australian.

   #2. Kristijan Krajina (206-F-90, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Mt.St.Mary's (11-7) in their last game. Despite Krajina's good performance the Mt.St.Mary's was crushed 91-70 in Brooklyn, NY by the Long Island University. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. It was Mt.St.Mary's' first loss after nine consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Krajina has been at the team for four years. Krajina has averaged so far 4.3ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.6apg in the 22 games.

   #3. Marco Buljevic (197-G-87, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) was not able to secure a victory for ETB Wohnbau (11-16) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance ETB Wohnbau was defeated 90-85 in Vechta by the leading SC Rasta. Buljevic scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Buljevic averaged so far 10.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.0apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and German. Despite Buljevic's Croatian nationality, he previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Croatian team.

   #4. Experienced Igor Milicic (194-G-76, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland) contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Kotwica (6-17) 84-69 in the Polish TBL in Friday night's game. Milicic recorded 7 points in 22 minutes. AZS Koszalin (11-12) is placed second in Places 7-12 group. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Milicic has been at the team for five years. He has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.8apg in the 11 games. Milicic has both Croatian and Polish nationalities.

   #5. Sandi Marcius (206-F-90, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Purdue (8-10) in their game against the University of Nebraska (5-13) in the NCAA. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Purdue was edged 57-55 at home by the University of Nebraska. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Marcius has been at the team for four years. Marcius has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.8apg.

   #6. Marin Petric (190-G-80, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a 3-point Duesseldorf Baskets' victory against the 13th-ranked Finke Baskets 77-74 in the German ProA (second division) on Friday night. He scored 9 points in 19 minutes. Petric averaged so far 10.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.7apg in the 25 games. He also holds two passports: Croatian and German.

   #7. Sasa Jankovic (204-F-84, currently plays in Slovakia), who plays in the Slovakian Extraliga couldn't help SKP Banska Bystrica (15-17) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Jankovic's very good performance SKP Banska Bystrica was edged in an overtime 107-105 in Nova Ves by the higher-ranked Nova Ves (#5). He scored 15 points. Jankovic averaged so far 10.4ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.1apg.

   #8. Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-C-84, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Bulgaria) couldn't help Euroins Cherno More in their game against Beroe in the Bulgarian NBL. He scored 6 points and blocked 2 shots. His team was crushed by 33 points 95-62. Vrcelj is currently sixth on the league's list of best rebounders. This season he has very good stats: 11.8ppg and 7.4rpg. Vrcelj holds both Croatian and Canadian passports.

   #9. Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help UBSC Graz in their game against Raiffeisen Wels in the Austrian A Bundesliga. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. His team was defeated 86-76. Stegnjaic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.4ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.2apg.

   #10. Ivica Cvitanovic (207-C-82, currently plays in Slovakia) couldn't help Svit in their game against Komarno in the Slovakian Extraliga. Cvitanovic scored 7 points in 23 minutes. His team was crushed by 23 points 100-77. He has averaged so far 1.8ppg and 3.4rpg in the eight games.

Skrljevo has added depth to its backcourt, and invested in its future by signing promised Josip Barnjak (190-G/F-98). The club also announced that it has re-signed experienced Jasmin Perkovic(205-F-80). Barnjak arrives from Kvarner 2010, for whom he averaged 6.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks in 25 Croatian A1 League games last season. Kolossos H Hotels (A1) agreed terms with 26-year old Croatian guard Toni Prostran (182-91). He played last season at Nevezis in Lithuanian LKL league. In 29 games he had 11.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 7.0apg (leader !!!). Quite impressive season as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Bosman Player of the Year and named to Honorable Mention. KK Cedevita Zagreb (A1) to sign 32-year old American power forward Chris Johnson (210-107kg-85, college: LSU) who plays at Anhui Wenyi in China. In 18 NBL games he had very impressive stats: 33.4ppg, 18.8rpg, 1.9apg, 1.8spg and 1.9bpg last season. In 2010 (a year after he left the college) Johnson was drafted by Dakota Wizards (D-League) in first round (9th overall).
