The Dutch U16 National Team narrowly defeated their Croatian counterparts at the international tournament in Nice. Asa Kantebeen (175-SG-97) scored 18 points to lead the winners.
Croatia ensured a flying start to the game. They went on a 27:12 run in the opening quarter. But Netherlands slowed their opponents down in the second frame. The Dutch team cut the distance to 10 points at halftime. The teams traded baskets throughout low-scoring third term. Croatia secured a 10-point lead before the fourth frame. But Netherlands exploded with a 28:15 rally in the final period to escape with the victory. Laura Steggink (183-PF-97) produced 11 points, while Janis Ndiba (180-PF-97) added 10 points and 15 boards for the winners. Ivana Dojkic (176-SG-97) answered with 18 points for Croatia. Iva Slonjsak (181-SG-97) had 13 points and 7 boards in the loss.

Anja Majstorovic(184-SF-94) will continue her career in Spain with CD Zamarat. She signed a one-year deal. Majstorovic spent all of her recent pro career playing for Medvescak, with whom she won four Championship and three Cup titles. She averaged 17.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 23 Croatian A1 League games last season. After a year in France, Mia Masic(180-F-93) has returned to Italy to play for Serie A2 side Selargius in the 2017-18 season. Masic spent last season with Al Aplemont Le Havre, where she averaged 9.9 points per game in Nationale 1 League (third tier). Prva liga side Istrauni added size and experience to their roster by signing Ivan Krolo(217-C-83) for the upcoming season. Krolo arrives from Zabok, where he averaged 7.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in 10 Croatian A1 League games last season before in December left the club.
