Townsville Fire (WNBL) inked 33-year old former Australian international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80). She has a double citizenship as she also holds Croatian passport. Batkovic-Brown started the season at Adelaide Link Lightning (WNBL). In 20 games she was the best scorer with impressive 21.0ppg and had 9.7rpg (leader !!!), 2.2apg, 1.5spg and 2.6bpg this season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in her career as she was awarded Australiabasket.com All-Australian WNBL Domestic Player of the Year, Australiabasket.com All-Australian WNBL Player of the Year and Center of the Year. The last season Batkovic-Brown played also at Adelaide Lightning. In 19 games she was the best scorer with remarkable 24.6ppg and recorded 10.2rpg (#2 in the league), 3.0apg, 2.6spg (in top 2) and 1.6bpg. She contributed to her team winning the regular season. Batkovic-Brown won Italian A1 championship title in 2009. She also represented Australia at the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdon) last year. Batkovic-Brown's team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 8 games: 11.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.0apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 43.4%, FT: 82.8%.
Batkovic-Brown is a very experienced player. She has played also professionally in Russia (UMMC Ekaterinburg), Spain (Ros Casares), WNBA (Seattle Storm), Italy (Taranto) and Australia (Sydney Uni Flames and Canberra Capitals).
