Turkey celebrated the second consecutive victory at the start of SporToto World Cup tournament in Istanbul. The hosts shot down Croatia to remain perfect. Oguz Savas (212-C-87) accounted for 13 points in the victory.
Turkey held Croatia to 13 points in the opening quarter and grabbed a 4-point lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the second frame. Turkey ensured a 35:31 halftime lead. The hosts cleared off in the third term. Turkey went on a 25:10 run in the quarter and enjoyed a 19-point lead heading into the fourth frame. Turkey went on a 21:11 run in the final stanza to seal the victory. Ersan Ilyasova (207-F-87) delivered 9 points, while Kenan Sipahi (198-PG-95) contributed 8 points in the victory. Ante Tomic (217-C-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency), Marko Tomas (201-G-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) and Roko-Leni Ukic (196-PG-84, agency: XL Basketball Agency) had 10 points each in the loss.
