Rudy
Fernandez
Spain - Czech Republic 60:39

Spain clinched the second win at the European Championship. They left the loss to Slovenia behind and knocked down Czech Republic to open the fourth day of action in Slovenia. Rudy Fernandez (198-SF-85) finished with 14 points for the winners.
Spain showed their ambitions early on. They opened the game with six straight points. Sergio Llull (192-SG-87) and Ricky Rubio (192-G-90) gave Spain a double-digit lead late in the first quarter 16:6. Spain entered the second term up by 11 points 18:7. However Czech Republic went on a 9:0 run early in the second frame to cut the distance to just two points at 18:20. Spain regained a double-figure lead late in the half but Houska capped it with a three-pointer to put Czech Republic within 8 at 25:33. The low-scoring third term saw Spain maintain their lead. They arrived at the final intermission up by 10 points 47:37. Ricky Rubio and Rudy Fernandez made it a 14-point game early in the final stanza. Czech Republic could not find the basket for almost 7 minutes in the fourth frame before Jan Vesely (211-F-90) stopped the rot. But that was the only basket for Czech Republic in the quarter as Spain cruised to the victory at the end. Ricky Rubio posted 10 points, while Sergio Llull added 8 points in the win. Pavel Pumprla (198-SG-86) and Jan Vesely answered with 7 points each in the defeat.

Spain: Rudy Fernandez 14, Ricky Rubio 10, Sergio Llull 8
