Forward Jan Kratochvil (199-F-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Basket Kosice, receiving a Eurobasket.com 1Liga Player of the Week award for round 18. The 34-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Vysocina (#10, 4-14) 78-69. Basket Kosice maintains the 8th position in their group in Czech Republic 1Liga. Basket Kosice is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-11 record. In the team's last game Kratochvil had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Basket Kosice's top player in his first season with the team. Jan Kratochvil averages this season 14.6ppg and 7.9rpg.
The second best player in last round's games was 33-year old Pavel Novak (199-F-83) of Olomouc SK. Novak had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Olomouc SK lost that game 65-79 to the lower-ranked Prostejov B (#7, 8-10). Olomouc SK managed to keep the same 3rd spot in Group B. His team's 12-6 record is not bad at all. Novak is a newcomer at Olomouc SK, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#3). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Latvian forward Roberts Blumbergs (204-F/C-97) of GBA Sparta (#9). Blumbergs got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite Blumbergs' great performance GBA Sparta lost 80-87 to the higher-ranked Slavoj Litom. (#2, 13-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. GBA Sparta can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have rather bad season and 5-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Blumbergs he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Blumbergs has a very solid season. In 7 games in Czech Republic he scored 11.3ppg. He also has 8.1rpg, 2.0bpg and FGP: 55.4%.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
