NH Ostrava shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremiah Wilson (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Austin Dufault (205-90, college: Colorado) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five NH Ostrava players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward David Machac (205-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Puerto Rican-American guard Emanuel Ubilla (188-86, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Court Side) added 16 points respectively. BC Kolin's coach Predrag Benacek gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.

BK Prostejov made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Levice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Ondrej Kohout (204-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Jaromir Bohacik (197-92) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Willie Kemp (188-87, college: Memphis) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

BK Decin forced 21 BK Pardubice turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Jakub Houska (207-82) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard Levell Sanders (189-75, college: Seton Hall, agency: Stanley International) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. Five BK Decin players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Travis Nelson (208-87, college: Minnesota St.) who recorded 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and international point guard Michal Carnecky (184-85) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

CEZ Nymburk - USK Praha 100-48

CEZ Nymburk dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to USK Praha's 32 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded USK Praha 50-25 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. CEZ Nymburk players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American center Andrew Naymick (209-85, agency: Warren Sports International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots). His fellow American import point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four CEZ Nymburk players scored in double figures. CEZ Nymburk's coach Ronen Ginzburg felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson, agency: Two Points) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Michal Mares (192-92) added 14 points respectively for USK Praha in the defeat.

Former Czech National Team member Pavel Benes (190-G-75) has been named the new head coach of BC BK Geosan Kolin. Benes 42, has signed a three-year contract with BK Geosan Kolin and it will be hist forst time as a head coach in the NBL. He spent the past few years leading Nymburk's U19 squad, this past season to a 4th place finish as well as an assistant on the Senior National Team under Ronin Ronen Ginzburg.   [read more]

Sopron KC (A Division) landed 28-year old American guard Lamb Autrey (190-89kg-89, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Octagon Europe). He played most recently at BK Pardubice in NBL league in Czech Republic. In 42 games he averaged 12.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.0apg and 1.5spg last season. It was a very successful year in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com Czech Rep. League All-Imports Team and 2nd Team. Herbalife Gran Canaria (Liga Endesa) is close to add to their roster 25-year old Czech international center Ondrej Balvin (217-115kg-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who played last time at Movistar Estudiantes.Balvin managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year.
