Fifth-ranked BK Decin (17-13) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked CEZ Nymburk (27-1) on Wednesday. The visitors from Nymburk managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 23-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for the former international center Petr Benda (203-82, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. CEZ Nymburk's coach Ronen Ginzburg used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Robert Landa (200-82) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for BK Decin. Defending champion maintains first position in Group A1 with 27-1 record. BK Decin at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with BC Kolin. CEZ Nymburk are looking forward to face NH Ostrava (#4) at home in the next round. BK Decin will play against BC Kolin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Phil Martin who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. B&W Opava's coach Petr Czudek felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. B&W Opava have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A2. Levharti Chomutov lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 21 games lost. B&W Opava's next round opponent will be BK Usti nad Labem (#5) at home. Levharti Chomutov will play against Basketbal Svitavy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for BK Prostejov (19-10) which hosted in Prostejov 4th ranked NH Ostrava (18-12). Third ranked BK Prostejov managed to get a 10-point victory 82-72. It was a good game for Ondrej Kohout who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). NH Ostrava's coach Dusan Medvecky tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BK Prostejov have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A1. NH Ostrava lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. BK Prostejov will face BK Pardubice (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NH Ostrava will play against the league's leader CEZ Nymburk.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6:
In Group A2 Usti n/Labem beat J.Hradec on the road 93-85. Levice won against USK Praha on its own court 70-65. Levice managed to outperform Chomutov in a road game 85-71. USK Praha managed to beat J.Hradec at home 99-87.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 24 points and 12 rebounds by Jan Tomanec of J.Hradec.


Group A1
BK Pardubice - BC Kolin 82-88

Very important is a home loss of second ranked BK Pardubice (18-11) against sixth ranked BC Kolin (17-13) on Saturday night. Host BK Pardubice was defeated by BC Kolin in a tough game in Pardubice 82-88. The guests were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 23-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. An interesting game for BK Prostejov (19-10) which hosted in Prostejov 4th ranked NH Ostrava (18-12). Third ranked BK Prostejov managed to get a 10-point victory 82-72. The game was mostly controlled by BK Prostejov. NH Ostrava was better in second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
