Argentina registered the first win at the U19 World Championship. They overcame hosting Czech Republic to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Rodrigo Haag (193-SG-95) nailed 13 points to lead balanced effort from the Latin American team. Czech Republic fell at 0-2 record after the defeat.
Neither side looked dominant in the first ten minutes. The scoreboard read 17:17 at the end of the first quarter. Argentina opened the second frame on a massive 20:2 run to clear off. The visitors accumulated a 39:23 halftime advantage. Argentina kept Czech Republic at safe distance throughout the third period. The Latin American side arrived at the final break up by as many as 23 points 61:38. Czech Republic were able just to cut the deficit in the fourth period. Gonzalo Torres (202-F/C-94) netted 11 points, while Gabriel Deck (199-F-95) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for Argentina. Petr Safarcik (188-G/F-94) answered with 10 points for Czech Republic. Radovan Kouril (180-PG-95) netted 8 points in the loss.
