Here is the weekly review of the top performing Czech Republic players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard David Jelinek (194-90, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (2-9) crushing them 87-67 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Jelinek scored 6 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals in 17 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Caja Laboral this season. His team is placed fifth in group F. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. Jelinek is currently a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help Cajasol (9-16) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Satoransky's very good performance Cajasol was badly defeated 66-49 on the road by the much higher-ranked G.Canaria 2014 (#6). He was the top scorer with 15 points. Satoransky also added 3 steals. Satoransky belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #5. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.5ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 51.1%, 3FGP: 34.6% and FT: 75.3%. Satoransky is in the roster of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international center Ondrej Starosta (215-79, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He was not able to help Planasa NV (8-14) in their last game. Despite Starosta's very good performance Planasa NV lost 67-74 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#6) Lobe_Huesca. He was the top scorer with 24 points. Starosta also added 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 31 minutes. It was Planasa NV's fifth consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Starosta is currently third on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Starosta averages: 15.1ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 59.3%(143-241) and FT: 42.7% in the 22 games he played so far. He played for the Czech Republic national team five years ago.

Pavel Pumprla

   #4. Shooting guard Pavel Pumprla (198-86, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Blusens Monbus (12-13) in their game against Valencia Basket (15-10) in the Spanish ACB. Pumprla recorded 7 points and added 3 assists. Blusens Monbus was defeated 80-74 in Valencia by the higher-ranked Basket (#5). Pumprla's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.2apg. He is also Czech Republic national team player.

International small forward Lubos Barton (202-80, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider LTi 46ers (4-23) 79-63 in the German BBL on Saturday night. He scored 9 points. New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig (11-15) is placed 14th in the BBL. Barton's overall stats this season are: 5.1ppg and 3.1rpg. He plays currently for the Czech Republic national team.

   #6. Center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Caceres Basket (9-13) crushing them 84-64 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Hampl recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Hampl's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 7.1ppg and 4.0rpg in the 22 games. Hampl is an international player who is currently on the senior Czech Republic National Team roster.

   #7. Former international center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, agency: Two Points, college: Iowa St., currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Umana Venezia (11-12) in their game against Lottomatica Roma (16-7) in the Italian SerieA. He scored only 4 points. Umana Venezia was defeated 74-69 in Roma by the higher-ranked Lottomatica (#3). It was Umana Venezia's third consecutive loss in a row. Hubalek's total stats this season are: 1.9ppg and 1.8rpg. He used to play for the Czech Republic national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams:

   #1. Michal Kremen (200-G/F-81, currently plays in Cyprus), who plays in the Cypriot Division A could not help Apoel (12-9) in their last game. Despite Kremen's good performance Apoel lost 69-76 on the road to the leading Keravnos. He scored 10 points in 19 minutes. It's Kremen's first season with the team. This year Kremen's overall stats are: 6.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.9apg and 1.5spg in the 21 games he played so far.

   #2. Jan Kratochvil (200-F-82, currently plays in Slovakia) was not able to help Komarno (21-11) in their game against SKP Banska Bystrica (15-17) in the Slovakian Extraliga. Kratochvil scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. Komarno was crushed 89-64 in Banska Bystrica by the lower-ranked (#7) SKP Banska Bystrica. It was Komarno's fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Kratochvil's total stats are: 5.8ppg and 3.0rpg in the 30 games.

   #3. Jaroslav Tyrna (207-F/C-86, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an USC Leipzig's victory against one of league's weakest teams Kirchheim Knights (10-17) 103-97 in the German ProA (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Uni-Riesen Leipzig (7-20) closes the standings in the ProA. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Tyrna's total stats this season are: 6.2ppg and 5.6rpg.

CEZ Basketball Nymburk (NBL) signed 23-year old American guard Kendrick Ray (188-85kg-94, agency: Pensack Sports). He just graduated from Kennesaw State University (NCAA). Ray has played there for the last three years. In 31 games he had very impressive stats: 21.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 3.1apg last season. Ray helped them to make it to the semifinals. Turi Svitavy (NBL) landed power forward Kovar Lubos (202). He played most recently at the junior team of Loko Plzen in the 1Liga. The young forward is a bright star amongst the Czech junior ranks and will look to continue his development with Svitavy, while adding valuable experience in the KNBL. BK JIP Pardubice (NBL) agreed terms with 28-year old American forward Scott Martin (203-99kg-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: HMS). Martin has spent the past four seasons playing in the British BBL with Newcastle Eagles Esh Group.
