Brandis
Raley-Ross
American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-G-87) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Tarvas, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Parnu (#7, 11-14) 80-77. It allowed Tarvas to consolidate first place in the Estonian KML. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tarvas has a very solid 20-9 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Raley-Ross had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Tarvas' top player in his first season with the team. Former University of South Carolina star has very solid stats this year. Raley-Ross is in league's top in points (5th best: 15.1ppg), rebounds (9th best: 6.3rpg), assists (6th best: 3.4apg) and averages impressive 57.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old Serbian Edi Sinadinovic (193-PG-88) of Valga. Sinadinovic had a very good evening with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Valga was edged by slightly higher-ranked TTU (#4, 14-11) 64-61. Valga managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-16 record. Sinadinovic is one of the most experienced players at Valga and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Nigerian forward Ike Okoye (206-F-86) of Tln Kalev (#8). Okoye scored 12 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Tln Kalev, leading his team to a 67-50 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Hito/Johvi (#9, 2-25). Tln Kalev can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-21 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Okoye he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Okoye has individually a great season in Estonia. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.9ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 10.6rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kristjan Kitsing (205-F-90) of Parnu - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Illimar Pilk (195-F-88) of Rapla - 18 points and 6 rebounds
6. Reimo Tamm (185-PG-84) of Tarvas - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Martin Jurtom (198-PF-94) of Rapla - 14 points and 4 rebounds
8. Rait-Riivo Laane (179-PG-93) of Rapla - 8 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Rannar Raap (188-G/F-92) of Parnu - 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Edgars Cunda (195-G-84) of Valga - 15 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Arnold Mitt
Montegrano lands Arnold Mitt - 3 days ago
Serie A2 newcomer Poderosa Basket Montegranaro tabbed 19-year old Estonian center Arnold Mitt (206-98). He has played for the last three years at the junior team of Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia in the Serie A. Serie A was a little too high level for him, where in only one Eurocup game he did not score anything. Serie A2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Mitt represented Estonia at the European Championships U18 Division B in Oberwart (Austria) two years ago....   [read more]
