Viive Kai Rebane selected the top Estonian playing abroad in last week's games - Mar 20, 2013

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Viive Kai Rebane (182-89, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL. She could not help Neftochimic (20-2) in their last game. Despite Rebane's very good performance the league leader Neftochimic lost 89-93 on the road to the second-ranked Dunav 8806. She was the top scorer with 26 points. Rebane also added 7 rebounds in 32 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only her third season in pro basketball. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Rebane has relatively good stats this year: 11.2ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 52.3% and FT: 61.1% in the nine games she played so far. Ex-Audentes Tallinn player is currently a member of the Estonian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Merike Anderson (180-81, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Bulgaria) faced previously mentioned Viive Kai Rebane in the Bulgarian NBL last game. Anderson led Dunav 8806 to a victory against the league leader Neftochimic (20-2) 93-89. She scored 15 points. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Anderson's first season with the team. Anderson is currently fourth on the league's list of best passers. She has very reliable stats this season: 14.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.9apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 55.9%(95-170), 3FGP: 20.8% and FT: 71.7%. Anderson is in the roster of the Estonian senior national team.

   #3. The Estonian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Pirgit Puu (168-88, currently plays in Latvia), who plays in the Latvian LSBL. She was not able to help KK Tallinna Ulikool (11-10) in their last game. Despite Puu's very good performance KK Tallinna Ulikool lost 58-67 in Audentes to the lower-ranked (#7) e SG/Noortekoondis. She was the top scorer with 24 points. Puu also added 5 rebounds in 38 minutes. Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. Puu belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #3 with 19.6ppg. This year her other stats are: 4.1rpg, 3.2apg, 2.4spg, 2FGP: 52.2%, 3FGP: 43.8% and FT: 76.9% in the 17 games. Puu played for the Estonian national team two years ago.

   #4. Forward Kerttu Jallai (180-90, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Pirgit Puu and both played together in the last Latvian LSBL game. Jallai, who plays in the Latvian LSBL was not able to secure a victory for KK Tallinna Ulikool (11-10) in their last game on Thursday. Despite her good performance KK Tallinna Ulikool was defeated 67-58 in Audentes by the lower-ranked e SG/Noortekoondis (#7). Jallai recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Jallai is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (fourth place). She has individually a very good season with high stats. Jallai averages: 19.6ppg, 10.0rpg, 3.3apg, 1.6bpg and 1.8spg. She is also Estonian national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international forward Rosemary Rits (180-92, currently plays in Finland) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Honka (17-12) in their game against Forssan Alku (18-12) in the Finnish SM-sarja, despite her very good performance last Saturday. Rits recorded 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 28 minutes. But Honka was edged 83-80 at home by the higher-ranked (#3) Forssan_Alku. Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is extremely important. This year Rits' overall stats are: 3.2ppg and 2.8rpg in the 11 games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Guard Mirjam Nikolai (177-86, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Eclex Tallinn (1-4) in their game against Gorizont (4-1) in the Baltic League. Nikolai was the top scorer with 9 points. She also added 4 boards, passed 4 assists and added 3 steals. But the third-placed Eclex Tallinn was defeated 56-50 on their home court in Tallinn by the second-ranked Gorizont in the group A of Baltic League. It was Eclex Tallinn's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Nikolai's team will play only one more game in the Baltic League Second Stage. Nikolai is currently second on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (seventh place). This season she has very good stats: 14.1ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.8spg. Nikolai is an international player who is currently on the senior Estonian National Team roster.

International power forward Annika Koster (185-92, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai and both played together in the last Baltic League game. Koster couldn't help Eclex Tallinn (1-4) in their game against Gorizont (4-1). She was the second best scorer with 8 points. Koster also added 9 rebounds in 32 minutes. Eclex Tallinn (#3) lost 50-56 on their home court in Tallinn to the second-ranked Gorizont in the group A of Baltic League. Koster is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of most steals (second place). This year her total stats are: 9.9ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.3apg and 2.5spg in the 12 games. Koster is also Estonian national team player.

   #8. Guard Heila Rosenfeldt (173-83, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Baltic League game facing Annika Koster (above) in the other team. Rosenfeldt couldn't help Eclex Tallinn (1-4) in their game against Gorizont (4-1). She scored 8 points and added 3 assists. Eclex Tallinn (#3) was defeated 56-50 on their home court in Tallinn by the second-ranked Gorizont in the group A of Baltic League. Rosenfeldt belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #8. She has very solid stats this season: 10.5ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg. Rosenfeldt used to play for the Estonian national team back in 2011.

   #9. Former U20 international swingman Greeta Uprus (177-94, currently plays in Latvia) faced previously mentioned Pirgit Puu in the Latvian LSBL last game. Uprus contributed to an Audentese SG/Noortekoondis' victory against the closely-ranked KK Tallinna Ulikool (11-10) 67-58. She scored 9 points, had 9 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls in 35 minutes. Uprus' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. This year Uprus has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg in the 18 games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #10. Center Trine Kasemagi (190-95, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Baltic League game facing Heila Rosenfeldt (above) in the other team. Kasemagi couldn't help Eclex Tallinn (1-4) in their game against Gorizont (4-1). She scored 7 points. Eclex Tallinn (#3) was defeated 56-50 on their home court in Tallinn by the second-ranked Gorizont in the group A of Baltic League. Kasemagi has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 2.6rpg. She is U18 international player who is currently on the Estonian National Team roster.

   #11. Former U20 international point guard Birgit Piibur (162-94, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Baltic League game facing Trine Kasemagi (above) in the other team. Piibur couldn't help Eclex Tallinn in their game against Gorizont. She scored 8 points in only 7 minutes. Her team lost 50-56. This year Piibur averages only 4.1ppg in the seven games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international swingman Berta Murk (176-92, currently plays in Latvia) couldn't help the league outsider BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite in their game against TTT Juniores in the Latvian LSBL. Despite her very good performance last Wednesday She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Murk also added 6 rebounds. Murk has averaged so far 4.5ppg and 3.4rpg. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team back in 2011.

   #13. U18 international forward Kadri-Ann Lass (175-96, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Baltic League game facing Birgit Piibur (above) in the other team. Lass couldn't help Eclex Tallinn in their game against Gorizont. She scored only 4 points in 8 minutes on the court. Her team lost 50-56. Lass has averaged so far 4.6ppg and 2.4rpg in the seven games. She is also Estonian U18 national team player.

   #14. Former U18 international forward Nele Laurimaa (178-93, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Pirgit Puu. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Kerttu Jallai (above) in the other team. Laurimaa couldn't help KK Tallinna Ulikool in their game against Audentese SG/Noortekoondis. She scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Her team was defeated 67-58. Laurimaa has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.1apg and 1.5spg. She used to play for the Estonian U18 national team back in 2011.

   #15. U18 international forward Jane Svilberg (179-95, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Baltic League game facing Kadri-Ann Lass (above) in the other team. Svilberg couldn't help Eclex Tallinn in their game against Gorizont. She cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Svilberg scored only 2 points in 19 minutes. Her team lost 50-56. Svilberg has averaged so far 1.6ppg and 1.4rpg in the 11 games. She is also in the roster of the Estonian U18 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Estonian passport but never been selected to any of Estonian national teams:

   #1. Kaiti Vasiljeva (177-G-87, currently plays in Latvia), who plays in the Latvian LSBL could not help the league outsider BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite (0-19) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Vasiljeva's very good performance the bottom-ranked BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite was defeated 83-78 on the road by the higher-ranked TTT Juniores (#8). She was the top scorer with 20 points. Vasiljeva also added 4 steals. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Vasiljeva has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.7apg and 2.6spg.

   #2. Kadri Uigra (183-F-97, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kaiti Vasiljeva. But that was another game of her team in Latvian LSBL which we would like to mention. Uigra, who plays in the Latvian LSBL was not able to help the league outsider BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite (0-19) in their last game. Despite her very good performance the bottom-ranked BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite lost 63-72 in Riga to the one of league's weakest teams (#11) Kolibri/U-16. Uigra was the top scorer with 17 points. She also added 8 rebounds in 25 minutes. Uigra has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 7.1rpg in the 18 games she played so far.

   #3. Sade Ereli (175-G-94, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kaiti Vasiljeva. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Kadri Uigra (above) in the other team. Ereli, who plays in the Latvian LSBL was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite (0-19) in their last game. Despite her good performance the bottom-ranked BC Tartu Ulikooli/Loctite lost 63-72 in Riga to the one of league's weakest teams (#11) Kolibri/U-16. Ereli scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. Ereli has averaged so far 5.1ppg and 4.9rpg in the 14 games.

   #4. Experienced Mariel Gregor (174-PG-80, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Eclex Tallinn (1-4) in their game against Gorizont (4-1) in the Baltic League. She cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Gregor scored only 2 points in 9 minutes on the court. Eclex Tallinn (#3) lost 50-56 at home to the second-ranked Gorizont in the group A of Baltic League. It was Eclex Tallinn's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Her team will play only one more game in the Baltic League Second Stage. This year Gregor averages just 2.2ppg in the six games.

TV Saarlouis Royals (DBBL) inked 25-year old Estonian international power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management). She has played for the last two years at Pallacanestro Femminile Broni in Italian Serie A1. In 24 games she averaged 9.0ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.1spg last season.
