The Turkish team overcame Paris-Levallois 85:69 in the decisive third game and clinched the ticket to the Semifinal. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. The hosts started with 21-8 and never looked behind. Paris-Levallois managed to win third quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka finished the game with 17-15 rally and celebrated the victory in front of 4000 fans. The best player for the winners was Will Thomas (203-PF-86, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bobby Dixon (178-PG-83, agency: Beo Basket, college: Troy) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sean May (206-F-84, college: N.Carolina) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds and Andrew Albicy (178-PG-90) added 9 points and 9 assists respectively.
EWE Baskets - Khimik 100-78 EWE Baskets take the last ticket to the Semifinals of the EuroChallenge. The German side smashed Khimik 100:78 in the decisive third game and clinched the spot in the Final Four. The lead changed hands 15 times in the first 12 minutes, while the scores were even on eight occasions.EWE Baskets shot 67.9 percent from the field and made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. EWE Baskets outrebounded Khimik 36-19 including a 31-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Khimik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Rickey Paulding (196-G-82, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Adam Chubb (208-F/C-81, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Pennsylvania) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Willie Deane answered with 23 points and 4 assists and Devoe Joseph (193-G-90, agency: Interperformances, college: Oregon) added 14 points in the effort for Khimik.

Karsiyaka - Krasnie Krilya 76-77 Krasnye Kylia steal the trophy from Izmir. The Russian side grabbed a 77:76 victory over Pinar Karsiyaka in the EuroChallenge 2012/2013 Final. Pinar Karsiyaka took 20-17 lead after the first period and then pushed the tempo until the end of the first half. The hosts needed a 26-17 surge to enjoy 12-point deficit at the halftime. It was not however enough against the favorite of the tournament. Krasnye Kylia erupted with a 20-9 burst in the third quarter and reduced to 55:54 after DeJuan Collins closed the period with a three. He later nailed another three for 76:73 on the board, while Bobby Dixon (178-PG-83, agency: Beo Basket, college: Troy) leveled the game with less than a minute to go. Wilson however scored one free throw to bring the guests 1-point lead. Diebler could bring the victory for his side, but missed a final shot. Chester Simmons (196-G-82, college: Washington) and DeJuan Collins paced all the winners with 18 points each. Andre Smith notched 14, while Omar Thomas (196-F-82, college: UTEP) added 9. Bobby Dixon replied with 23 points in the losing effort and Can Mutaf (190-G-91) scored 16. Alade Aminu nailed 12, whilst Thomas Williams brought 10.

Gravelines - EWE Baskets 76-84 EWE Baskets stepped onto the EuroChallenge pedestal. They outgunned Gravelines in the consolation final in Izmir tonight to clinch Bronze medals. Julius Jenkins fired 21 points to lead the German team. EWE Baskets opened the game on a 10:2 rally. However Gravelines answered with an 18:6 run to ensure a 20:16 lead late in the first frame. Adam Chubb (208-F/C-81, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Pennsylvania) and Joyce capped the quarter with five straight points to give Oldenburg a 23:20 advantage. EWE Baskets maintained the lead throughout the bigger part of the second term but Johnson and Camara teamed up late in the half to make it 38:36 for the French team after 20 minutes. Dwight Buycks (190-PG-89, college: Marquette) stretched the lead to as many as 7 points midway through the third term 52:45. However EWE Baskets capped the period with 10 straight points to enter the final frame up by three points 57:54. Kramer and Smeulders made it 64:58 for Oldenburg early in the fourth term. Dwight Buycks dragged Gravelines within two 67:69 with just over five minutes to go. Julius Jenkins stepped up once again for EWE Baskets opening a double-digit lead for them and Oldenburg never looked back en route to the victory. Ronnie Burrell (204-F-83, agency: Pro One Sports, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 14 points, while Adam Chubb added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Ludovic Vaty answered with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Gravelines. Dwight Buycks had 13 points in the loss.

Former Washington shooting guard Tre Simmons, 30, was announced Most Valuable Player of the EuroChallenge Final Four in Izmir, Turkey, following a stellar pair of showings for Russian Samara, averaging 17 points per game behind a noteworthy 50 percent shooting from distance.
With his team trailing Turkish Karsiyaka by 17 points midway through the third quarter, Simmons, cousin of former eight-year NBA veteran small forward Donny Marshall, knocked down back-to-back triples, rallying back Russia's state-cup champions, in what was a thrilling come-from-behind 77-76 dogfight victory.
In his first-ever EuroChallenge finals appearance, Simmons netted 18 points, collected three boards, stole the ball twice and turned it over five times to keep Samara's magical EuroChallenge 17-game win-streak alive. In fact, the Russian side hadn't dropped a Euro-comp game since 2011, when losing to Triumph Liberty.
Once a Euroleague scorer for Israeli power Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Seattle-born shooter, "the best guard the NBA has missed out on," according to the Los Angeles Clippers' shake-and-bake phenom Jamal Crawford, Simmons, Samara's No. 1 scorer with 15.6 points per game, who also leads his team in points in VTB competition with 17 per, has recaptured the eyes of top European organizations.
"The EuroChallenge competition is not an indication of (Simmons') talents," a prominent Euroleague scout told Eurobasket earlier today.
"Simmons is a dangerous one-on-one player, particularly in isolation plays, because he has the complete package. He is tall, athletic, he can shoot, he can drive, he can step back, and at times -- he looks like an NBA player out there," said Michael Koch, head coach of Trukese Telekom Baskets Bonn, on Simmons after playing Samara during the EuroChallenge playoff series.
Adding today's hardwood to his trophy collection, Simmons picks up his eighth European title after winning trophies in Israel (two championships, and one state-cup), Czech Republic (two championships, and one state-cup), and Russia (state-cup).
"Tre (Simmons) is one of
the greatest compliments to a European playmaker outside the NBA. His
defense may not sync with starting for a Euroleague team, but on
offense, he's one of a handful of guys that can come in for 15-20
minutes and easily produce 10-12 points," added the scout.
