American Lawrence Hill (203-F-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hapoel Holon and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Top 16).
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against the league's best team Paris-Levallois (#2, 1-0) 66-83. Hapoel Holon moved-up to the 4th position in the EuroChallenge group J. The team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings in Top 16. They lost 1 games and had no victories. Hill turned to be Hapoel Holon's top player in his first season with the team. Stanford University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hill is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.7rpg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 63.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American forward Andre Smith (203-F-85) of second-ranked Krasnie Krilya. Smith impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he lead Krasnie Krilya to another comfortable win 93-75 over Norrkoping (0-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the Top 16. They won their first game. However the Top 16 is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Smith is a newcomer at Krasnie Krilya and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Sean May (206-F-84) of second-ranked Paris-Levallois. May scored 16 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Paris-Levallois, leading his team to a 83-66 easy win against #4 ranked Hapoel Holon in a game of the week. Paris-Levallois has a very good start of the Top 16. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. May also has a very good start of the Top 16 with very strong stats. May has a great season in EuroChallenge. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.6ppg (4th best). He also has 1.4bpg and FGP: 64.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aaron Miles (186-G-83) of Krasnie Krilya - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 13 assists
5. Andrew Albicy (178-PG-90) of Paris-Levallois - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists
6. Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87) of Khimik - 21 points and 9 rebounds
7. Bobby Dixon (178-PG-83) of Karsiyaka - 28 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Ludovic Vaty (206-C-88) of Gravelines - 21 points and 8 rebounds
9. Jawad Williams (204-F-83) of Paris-Levallois - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Martins Meiers (208-C-91) of Ventspils - 18 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
