John Bryant
American John Bryant (208-C-87) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Ratiopharm and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4 (Top 16).
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 20 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team crushed Galatasaray (2-2) with 21-point margin 91-70. Ratiopharm is placed at 2nd position in Eurocup group L. Ratiopharm is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 4 games. In the team's last game Bryant had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Ratiopharm, through which he has constantly improved. Santa Clara University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bryant leads league in rebounds with 9.8rpg. Bryant is in league's top in and averages solid 56.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American forward Derrick Brown (203-F-87) of league's best team Lokomotiv. Brown impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Lokomotiv cruised to a 83-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Cajasol (#4, 0-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in group K. Lokomotiv consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. A very good start of the Top 16 for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Brown is a newcomer at Lokomotiv and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Lithuanian Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-C-84, agency: Interperformances) of top-ranked VEF Riga. Kavaliauskas scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of VEF Riga, leading his team to a 81-59 easy win against #4 ranked CEZ Nymburk. VEF Riga confirms their top position in group J. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Kavaliauskas has a very solid season. In 10 games in Eurocup he scored 9.7ppg. He also has 4.4rpg and FGP: 62.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Artur Drozdov (200-SF-80) of Budivelnyk - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Carlos Arroyo (188-G-79) of Galatasaray - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Zack Wright (195-G-85) of Spartak SP - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists

10. Mire Chatman (187-PG-78) of Unics - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
