B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas announced Arturas Milaknis (195-G-86) and Siim-Sander Vene (203-SF-90, agency: Alti Sport) for the next season.
Arturas Milaknis played last time at Rudupis Prienu. It is actually his comeback to Kaunas as he played here before. He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 25 LKL games he had 13.9ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. A very impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Honorable Mention. Milaknis also played 6 games in Eurocup where he recorded 9.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.3apg. He also played 19 games in Baltic League where he recorded 14.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg. He contributed to his team making it to the final.
The previous (11-12) season Milaknis played at Zalgiris. But in three games he did not score anything and had only 2 rebounds and 2 steals. He also played 3 games in VTB United League where he recorded just 1.0ppg that season.
Siim-Sander Vene played also last time at Rudupis Prienu. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 25 LKL games he averaged 11.9ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.6apg and 1.4spg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Bosman Player of the Year and selected to Honorable Mention. Vene also played 6 games in Eurocup where he had 10.7ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.2apg. He also played 21 games in Baltic League where he had 9.9ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg. He contributed to his team making it to the final.
The previous (11-12) season Vene played at VEF Riga (LBL) in Latvian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 5 LBL games he had 6.6ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.2apg. Vene also played 2 games in Eurocup where he had just 2.0ppg and 1.5rpg. He also played 2 games in Baltic League where he had 6.0ppg and 3.0rpg. And finally Vene played 2 games in VTB United League where he had 4.0ppg and 1.0spg. He also played at LSU-Baltai that season. In 15 games he had 8.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg. Vene also played 12 games in Baltic League where he had 11.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.0apg and 1.3spg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals.
Vene was also a member of Estonian international program for some years. He played for Estonian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2012 and previously for U20 National Team in 2007. Vene represented Estonia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 10 games: 14.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.9apg, FGP: 61.3%, 3PT: 37.0%, FT: 57.1%.

CSKA - Real Madrid 94:70 CSKA finished their EuroLeague campaign on a high note. They stormed past Real Madrid in Istanbul today to earn the third place.
